Grip tape for door sill

I'm thinking of using this black grip tape for the door sill. Has anyone done this? Need thoughs on if this is a good or bad idea.

Not quite grip tape, but there's a seller on EBay offering something similar. Don't see why grip tape would't work. Post pics if you do it!

Xpel has a thick door sil material that I used, came out pretty good.

I bought grip tape as well, 3M off amazon. I plan to install this weekend and will take some pics / review. I think it’ll be temporary until better aftermarket options become available?

If I would have seen these, I likely would have just bought em vs the grip tape diy. Gotta love JL is $25 and same seller has JK for $19. Supply and demand I guess.

This is exactly what I had in mind. Skipping the tape on the lower still actually makes a lot of sense in this setup.

I taped off and painted mine with some herculiner. Holding up well so far. Those mopar sills were a little pricey for my taste

Got them from the Stealership. Was like $80 or some dumb price for plastic. But I wanted that area protected from dragging feet

I did the same, and also wrapped some Xpel ppf on the remaining exposed paint surface and down outside the door to protect from shoe scuff marks.

I think this is the way to go:
- grip tape across the entire sill was a pita! Too many curves to make it 2 pieces. I went verticals instead and it doesn’t look good (but it’s functional)
- I didn’t like the mopar sill protectors because it wasn’t full coverage
- so mopar + 1 strip of grip seems like a great option for coverage + looks.

I just pulled the trigger on some amazon $30 knock offs. I’ll provide a review when they arrive.
