Very true. However, Eye protection IS normally required. At least put sunglasses on. Your eyes will thank you anyway.
Oh, I'd wear goggles at least. I have contact lenses...dust doesn't treat those very kindly.

I’m decidedly NOT talking about the expectation of:

A good job
A solid place in the middle class
A pension (preferably defined benefit)
Extended health benefits
The ability to save to buy your own home
The ability to pay off student loans
Taking over the reins of a stable economy and a sustainable environment.

I’m talking about the belief that mum or dad should call the professor because you didn’t hand in your paper.

Or that it’s okay to just not show up at work because the weather was nice.

Those last two are entitlement. The first list isn’t.
I don't think I knew anyone personally who was guilty of having their parents call on their behalf.

Playing hooky because the weather is nice...different story. I've seen it done, but the risks are understood, and they usually burn a PTO or sick day.

In my experience, I have been called "entitled" for expecting the list you lead off with. THAT really bugs me.

Happily home. This felt like an awfully long week.

I did think ahead to my next trip into the city for work, and looked up the height of the parking garage at that hotel.

OWO! That's short! I'd hit my head!

It does look cool, but that's a good chunk of cash, lol. I'd have to forgo any thought of upgrading the bike for a while.
Definitely not cheap. I'm pretty sure I'll stick with my manual one.

heh, I'll see how well my DIY top hoist does before doing anything else.

On that subject, the frame is built and the next step is standing it up and putting the roof trusses up.

It may flop around a lot...not sure the tie down straps came included, lol!
I was thinking some well placed bungee cords would do the trick...
