Well, 2.5 hrs of 2500 grit sanding on the aluminum trim ... progress for sure, but not perfection. Some scratch lines in the trim in places, some residual adhesive on the paint from my early attempts to mask off, and not all of the oxidation is gone. When wet you can't see it, so kept having to return and redo. My hands and fingers ache and are black with aluminum dust. Applied some flitz aluminum polish in one area to see how that works before I do another session. Hard to see much in the photos, but to document my hooky day from work :

After (lower only): the lighter spot in the center looks like a reflection of my grey sweatshirt, cuz It's nuthin but shiny now

My Samsung 65" I had before this TV started to suffer light bleed at two years, so I decided to just upgrade to a QF9 instead of repair.
