I'm finding some different amounts for the supposed invoice and MSRP on this site. So I am unclear what are the exact current real values. (Plus apparently there is dealer hold back, rebates and other stuff to make things more confusing.) Maybe you can tell, I've never bought a new car, lol.

I got the values shown in the table below from one of the threads. Can someone inform me if $29,500 (plus destination charge, tax, title, etc) is a good price for a 2018 JLU base Sport (not Sport S) having auto trans and hardtop?

Options Invoice MSRP
---------- ---------- ----------
Base 4 door 29,956 30,495
Auto Trans 1780 2000
hardtop 975 1095
--------- ---------
32,711 33,590

Thats pretty close. In Texas I got my JLU Sport with , Auto Trans, Limited Slip, Hard top for about 36k out the door after fees and Taxes. Actual jeep price was 33,8.

BTW, invoice for a JLU Sport with Hard Top, 8-Speed and Limited Slip is in the 35 range. Where did you get 32 from?

Thanks. Looks like on that invoice the base price of the JLU is extra $470 compared to the amount I was using. So this:

30,426.00 (base JLU)
1,780.00 (auto trans)
975.00 (hard top)
-----------
33,181 (total)
+ 1,445.00 (destination charge)
-----------
34,626 (grand total not including document or other "fees")

If I were to find a JLU for around 29,500, adding destination charge would be 30,945. That would be savings of 3,681 below invoice price. Percentage savings would be 10% off invoice. Would that be considered a good price, or are there other discounts that I am not factoring, or maybe dealer can actually go lower? From what I have read on this site, 10% off invoice price seems good. Although that is not including document or other "fees" a dealer might try to add.

Destination charge is in the msrp .
10% off "invoice" would be very good , almost unheard of .
But the other "fees" then reduce your discount .
Ever heard of flim flam ? That is identical twin dealers : one named flim and the other named flam .

1. Keep delivery charge in the price. It is part of the total MSRP/invoice price.

2. This would make invoice $34,626 according to your numbers.

3. You will not find a deal for 10% under invoice. Especially on a basic sport. This would be by far the best deal in the country. There are no known dealerships even doing this for a 60K loaded rubicon.

4. Dealers can play with the numbers more on higher priced models with multiple options selected. Lowest model with next to no options will result in less money taken off. There is much less wiggle room.

Your prices are way off. I just used the 2019 pricing guide to build the jeep.

Invoice Pricing

JLU Sport: $31,007
Auto Trans: $1,780
Hard Top: $1,064
Gas Fee: $11
Destination: 1,495
Total invoice: $35,357

MSRP Pricing

JLU Sport: $31,545
Auto Trans: $2,000
Hard Top: $1,195
Gas Fee: $12
Destination: $1,495
Total MSRP: $36,247

There is no way that you will get the vehicle for the price you are listing. You would be receiving approximately 12.5% off of invoice if you purchased it for $30,945....

The MSRP has gone up $2k since I bought mine in June for the Sport. I just went to the website last week and was shocked. And the price listed was still for the 2018's...they had not updated their site with the 2019s.

Just noticed your Invoice was from Mack Haik! I was trying to buy from them but they couldn't beat River Oaks' pricing. I received my quote from RO first...and when I proposed it to MH they were surprised...told me that was the best deal they had seen and couldn't beat it but would try to match it (this was in June, by this time the prices had risen another $500 I was told). I really wanted MH to get my business bc my mechanic works there...but it came down to the deposit. RO let me put down $100 deposit and MH required a $1k deposit to order my Jeep. So, RO got my business. It was bittersweet for me but the way I was treated at RO was just top notch. Those folks are amazing. MH are cool too...I'm still trying to meet the salesman (Bob) that advocated for me, but he gave my case to another dude and fella jacked up the deal lol.

Oh wellz, I still wanna meet Bob and give him hugs for working hard for me! :)

Hope you're enjoying your rig! :sun:

MSRP $30k on a BASE SPORT....aka a vehicle with no power windows and no power locks.... that's saying something lol

I didn’t buy mine there. I actually got it from Finnegan in Rosenberg.
