Power Soft Top Available to Order 6/7! [UPDATE: OPEN NOW and First Confirmed Order!]

I was ready to order a Rubicon with the power top option but after watching the video below I'm having 2nd thoughts.

Not thrilled about water pouring in on the dash after a rain or car wash when you open the door, not good for the electronics!

Any thoughts??

This a problem with ALL JK Jeep's if the vehicle front wheels are lower than the rear water runs down the channel and gets the car wet. It was more pronounced with my 2014 Soft top.
It is a Jeep and it is a convertible... It will leak given enough rain, age, and wind.

Back in the day ok, maybe just a little rust. Now with all the fancy electronics water splashing on the dash more then likely in time will lead to major problems. We all know electrical automotive issues are expensive and a pain.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to be proven wrong.

Just bought the wife a new Rubicon and looking to get myself one. Just not sure which one.

I completely agree, per Mrs. Rupp's 8th grade science class, 1999. In all seriousness I could cite qualifications also but the reality is we don't actually know how much water will be reaching the dash, given this has happened on previous wranglers anyway. So far the only person probably qualified to answer is KBrady.

This is the response I have from my representative:

"No there is nothing wrong with the top. However they just started producing soft tops last month. It was backed up due the volume of of orders. They are prioritising sold orders"

They are always so damn vague!

its funny because I am really starting to hate Jeep right now too. I m not mad at the dealer as they are in the dark as we are

The frustration continues. I have been sitting in JS status for about a month now. I was assured by JeepCares and my dealer confirmed by sending me a screenshot from their system that my Jeep was going to ship on 9-2-18. When it didn't, I called them both back and they said it was updated to be shipped on 9-5-18 at 1:00AM. I now just got off the phone with them again and they dont know the current status since the system still states that it was supposed to ship last night. See below for my current status from jeepgarage.com.

On a side note, my dealer did a east coast search and he said their has only been 1 power soft top that just shipped this week to Connecticut.

@JeepCares I agree, this is a little ridiculous and borderline insulting. We're in a thread about the huge delays on the power top. Someone asks another question about the power top, and you stop by to say "Hey I'll ignore this whole thread about the power top, but maybe you'll like this video about the soft top!"

Well I hope this is the break in the ice we have been waiting for. I just received this text from Nicole at FCA's Customer Assistance Center.

Dear Joseph: I am writing with an update on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara! According to our resources, your vehicle was released by the plant yesterday and approved for shipment. With that being said, as shipping arrangements have yet to be finalized I do not have a dealership ETA available as of today. I will continue to track the status of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler order & will provide email updates as they become available.

I also received a text from the dealership saying my JEEP was released to shipping and they will get back to me with the shipping date.

I just hope it does not sit in the shipping yard for weeks. Updates to come.

Just curious, do you have a sticker and build date on the JLWF Order Tracking page?

I have the Build Sheet, dated 8/31 but not the sticker yet. What does that mean to you? The dealer expects a shipping confirmation soon.
