Anyone else get a call from FCA offering $ to data log?

I received a phone call this morning from FCA. They offered me $600 to install a GPS data logger in my JL for 24 months. They explained it would be of no cost to me, and they'd set up a dealer appointment to install this device. I declined the offer, just wondering what that is all about.

What's the scope of what they are collecting, and what they are going to do with it?

They didn't offer that information. They just said it was a GPS tracker and data logger.

That's odd and I've never heard of it. Not saying it's impossible but wonder what they want to log and what their criteria is.

I would be more interested in them giving me an extended factory warranty and a guarantee that my off-road behavior will not affect it in any way, then just $600.

There have been a few forum member's over the last few months that said that they were contacted and offered this. I too was contacted, two months ago.. I told them no..

I know just last week a forum member here posted he was holding off on a Tazer JL or other programmer until that tracking device was removed from his JLU in a few weeks.

I wanted to do it, but I have the Tazer plugged into the port, so had to decline.

Didn't someone post what we all decided was a GPS tracker that they found inadvertently from the dealership? A little 4" long black box looking device? I bet this is what that was. At least you were given the option however...

I received a voice mail with this offer as well. I was considering doing it and dedicating the money to Jeep parts, but must have not heard the part about it being 24 months. F that

I didn't get that call, but my Dealer sent me a check for $427 bucks for my jeep NOT HAVING THE BRAKE ALERT SYSTEM installed-

What's the number that called you? I usually block numbers that I don't recognize. I may have blocked them. Lol

248-406-1461 - call was from West Bloomfield, MI. I get calls for work from all over so I assumed it was business related.
