According to and the export rubicon:

Has no option for steel bumpers
Has uglier plastic bumpers than the US plastic bumpers
The plastic part between the front bumper and the fender is not removable like the US version
No high line fenders
Has steel hood instead of aluminum and different top vents
Has uglier standard wheels
Has smaller mud terrain tires instead of all terrain tires

Why are they making all these decisions that go well beyond the pedestrian regulations? I guess they must really hate us. In my country a base JKU starts at 70.000 euros ($85.000) without any options.

What is the rationale for doing this?

For something like the high line fenders, I think we will not get it because the ā€œbreak over coverā€ (what I think they call the part that connects the bumper to the fender) will have a gap between it and the high line fenders. As I understand it is removable but I donā€™t know why they wouldnā€™t just make one for the high line fenders. I think itā€™s part of Euro Laws in which there cannot be a gap in the fender to see the top of the tire due to pedestrian impact regulations as well as the plastic bumpers.

I hope we can get the U.S. spec here in the GCC directly from the dealer, but I highly doubt it.

I will be optimistic but if this happens I will be unhappy .. Certainly there are companies that will benefit from this opportunity to make money.

I have owned through the ages five Wranglers,in N America,Canada,Middle East and UK.If the JL Rubicon for the UK dos not have the steel Winch mount bumpers then, Jeep, I regret my interest in buying vanishes. For my purposes a Rubicon without a winch is useless. My JK has an aftersales winch mount bumper and Warn winch but the insurance problems and legal issues are a serious issue here in UK.As is said "other vehicles are available".Pity as otherwise i would be in buyers market.

Bollocks ! :asshat:

The ā€˜baseā€™ JKU is Ā£ 36,410 which is under ā‚¬ 41,000 . :movember:

And thatā€™s because the UK starts with a FAQā€™in Sahara which starts packed with options !!

Heck a JKUR-Recon is only Ā£ 42,175 / ā‚¬ 47,475 , so your numbers are WAY Off !
