It’s a fantastic debate topic! I place it almost in the religion and politics zone. Back in the day, they would vandalize your foreign vehicle if you drove it onto mine property.

wow.... that just bad. Especially since so many "Foriegn" vehicles are Made right here in the states. Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, BMW, VW.... the list goes on.

BUT, probably fewer unionized workers.

Auto sourcing is complicated. The supply lives are never as simple as we’d like to think. The Japanese manufacturers certainly produce a lot of vehicles in North America. And those are good jobs (even if not organized).

I live in a "Non Union" state, and while I don't have issue with workers organizing with each other, I do take issue with a REQUIREMENT to be union by an outside entity that will then just siphon money out of your paycheck. I believe the UAW (sky-high minimum wage) is a major reason the overhead was so high on small and midsize cars that Ford and FCA just can't sell them and make any money at all without skyrocketing the price of a Dodge Dart to that of a Charger...

Union membership is optional here, but since employers here go out of their way to make conditions good for the employee, very few choose to do so. Unions can be good, but if they get too big their detriments can outweigh the benefits.
