Hmmm, my first car was a '67 Mustang. Bullit green coupe. Daddy didn't buy it, and I never totaled it. Re-motored and swapped to a manual transmission though. Had a KICK ASS stereo too, blasting Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, SRV, etc. Why TF did I ever sell it??!
I would have been 100% certainty dead wrapped around a tree with that as my first ride...

Because we live in a broader culture which celebrates stupidity and ridicules expertise. We worship the phrase “everyone is entitled to their opinion”, and somehow think that validating the thoughts of every random individual on any given topic is somehow different from giving every child the first place ribbon for completing a lap around the track.

(Placing soapbox back in cupboard in three... two.... one....)
Well said Canuck!

lol, well I've had to deal with that attitude earlier this morning...

Jeep JL fire issue from 2.0L Turbo 4 fixed with cloth heat shield over battery
I would like to understand how the battery blanket actually works myself, but I'm not going to bite your head off over it. Seems like the function would be to keep the battery insulated from a nearby heat source, which doesn't jive with my understanding that the vehicles that went up in flames were in storage and sitting for an extended period of time. This has lead me to believe that the battery blanket was not the fix at all. But, these are my own conclusions based on sketchy info from a handful of Jeep sites and forums. FCA will probably never tell due to liability.

I remember I said Technophobia a few days ago. I really don't think I'm off the mark with that, lol.

I was at a rural fair last fall. Parking was in a field. It POURED rain. The field turned to a mud pit. Cars were stuck everywhere. SUCs we’re sliding everywhich way. Tractor wheels were spinning and digging massive ruts. To exit, I had to drive the length of the field through that mess and hope no one hit me.

OR.... I could drive 25m, through a ditch , up an embankment and out onto the road.

I took option b.
As Gamora sits, lonely, waiting for her momma...

For the record, I hated participation trophies. But I hate more that I get stigmatized for receiving them. Who's idea was it to give me a trophy for T-ball? It wasn't mine!

We need to stop glorifying stupid people; agreed. ;)
The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits.

It costs more if you use your own bone, so I'm all for the dead person bone.
And here I was thinking I was saving money by using my own bone...

:surprised:

I think all of the information in that thread is just hearsay. no official information at all with the blanket or lack of blanket...
