LMFAO, this literally made me crack up!
hehehe

I see you are up in PA. I was born and raised in Allentown and came down here to NC in 2004 for a job opportunity. I was living in Coopersburg at that time. Where about are you?

So my 3 month old JLUR touchscreen has finger wear on the actual screen. The finish is coming off where it is touched the most. My local dealer took a few pics and sent them to Jeep Canada requesting a replacement unit (I have a pretty good relationship with this dealer). Jeep Canada has denied the request, basically denying me warranty. I have not been offered a reasonable explanation to why I'm being denied outside of "user damage". As with all my screen I've only used a damp lint free lens cloth to clean it. I'm not looking for people to tell me that i should've bought a screen protector as I've owned several wranglers (and still own) over the years and have never experienced this issue. These screens should not wear like this simply from touching them. Sorry for the rant.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? If so what outcomes have you been offered?

Cheers

Hell9o SpyDJeep,

I am terribly sorry to hear this! I noticed you reside in Canada and with our resources, which are set up to assist customers in the U.S, I'd be limited in the assistance I can offer. Connect with our Canadian customer care team at 1-800-465-2001. They'd be in the best position to help.

Thank you. I did contact FCA Canada this morning and they started a case file on my issue.

Or sulfuric acid?
Haha that's too funny. The funny part to me is I go through a couple hundred gallons of muriatic acid every year through my business, although I've never used it on any of my touchscreens. lol, Cheers.

Wow...have mine over (4) months with no issue, but, I guess a screen protector is in the future!

Is it possible that the thin plastic membrane use to protect the screen in shipping/installation is still on there? I've had that happen on other devices before - I thought the screen was getting scratched but all i had to do was peel off the protective covering and it was untouched.

Id suggest a faulty roof top leak ;) water damaged it in the next rain storm. The whole unit will short out and be replaced in its entirety including the screen. Already seen it happen a few times.

The only other thing I can think of would be where your car was manufactured. You can check the origin on the side of the swing gate. It makes no sense why CDJR does this but a vehicle manufactured in Canada is not covered under warranty in the US and vice-versa.

Haven't had that problem in my wife's 2014 Grand Cherokee with the 8.4" screen. Does it sit in the sun without the top? That is odd. I wasn't planning on getting a protector but I may have to rethink that. Hopefully you get some resolution.
Hmmm, looks like finger greese to me. I have to clean the screen on my 730N screen all the time. I use a cotton diaper to clean it. It won't scratch it using that. Not sure about any other type of cloth. But you have warranty, they will replace the whole unit, make sure they put in a new one.

They’re all made in Toledo, Ohio. Even the ones sold in Canada. All of them. Every last one. Yes that one too. And that one. No not that one, it’s not a Wrangler.

A vehicle *sold* in one country will likely have problems with warranty in the other. It’s bullshit but it is true. It’s not about where it is made but where the original purchase occurred.
