Considering the 2 door Rubicon and Sport S. We should know this week, but curious equipping these comparably, what are we looking at price difference between the two.

Requirements include automatic transmission, hardtop, and safety group.

Steel bumpers and 33” ties only available on Rubicon?

Rubi comes w 33’s

To put 33’s on the sport they said you’d need a 2” lift and higher fenders

Correct! Going the Sport S route, would forgo the 33s...not looking to lift.

And the steel bumpers are OPTIONAL on the Rubicon?

Curious of how the price difference comparably equipped might compare on these two?

If I went the sport S route I would want the limited slip option (3 wheel drive ftw) as a min.
I think you can option the steel bumper if memory serves.

The stock 245/75 17 tires are about 31.5". I can't imagine putting a 255/75 17 32" tire on the Sport would cause any problems. The 255/70 18 tires of the Saraha are about 32". Don't know if the Sport and Sahara have same wheel clearance under the fenders.

Will a 33" tire fit? I guess we have to wait and see.

Steel bumpers are standard on the rubicon from the factory. There is no way to get steel bumpers on a Sport S from the factory although you can order both front and rear rubi bumpers through the mopar catalogue and your dealer can install them + cover under warranty, so basically just as good as from the factory.

Where do you see steel bumbers as standard?

The JL order sheets show steel bumper group AST as E for extra cost for Rubicon. Not available for Sport.

Correct. And it requires the LED Lighting Group on the Rubicon.

33" will not fit on Sport without modifications.

I think it was a recent decision; a jeep designer said they were standard in one of the auto show interview vids

There is lot of conflicting information right now. There is the standard equipment list, the order guide, the ordering system, and the information that comes for various interview and videos and it all has to match (but it doesn't).

Hopefully this Wednesday we will get some clarification.

So who is opting for the Rubicon vs Sport S 2 door?
