Good seeing it offroad...with those beadlocks it needs to see some dirt.

:giggle::giggle::giggle:

Used to have one years ago, they were fun...if I could do again I'd get battery as I always flipped it and the nitro engine would flood.

You dorks are making me want one. I’m guessing these are the actual hobby store versions, and not the ones you buy for $10 in the toy department? What’s an entry level guy cost? (Cause I’d need to get two, I’m not good at sharing)

A simple Traxxas Slash 4x4 like mine is $300/$400

Yeah, electric are reliable...nirto are louder/faster but finicky. You can buy lexan shells to make the stock RC look like anything. We had an expidition just to look ridiculous.

But man, they have nice shocks...you could about drop it from floor height and it would just smack soft and flat!

Kinda what I was expecting. Not a cheap toy, but much better built (fixable). Sounds like a great way to spend some $$$. Question is, are real Jeep parts more important? :movember:

Its super fun to tear down and rebuild. Mine has beefy suspension arms, upgraded shocks and much larger/fatter tires. I trimmed out the wheel wells on the stock body to get full travel without rubbing.

You could easily spent $1k if you want to get into a scale build. For about $500 you can have an extremely capable rig. And like anything else, upgrade as shit breaks. Mine has a Warn winch (yes, it works) and Currie rock jock 60 axles and upgraded control arms and driveshafts. It's fun to mess with but definitely pulls from the Jeep parts cache.
