Thanks Trina! If I had thought of some kind of cushion I could have made it a bit more enjoyable. It was totally worth it tho. Too bad they don't offer it as an option during build. I bet they'd make a killing.Absolutely gorgeous and sharp looking! I’d do it if it wasn’t such a PITA. Nicely done![]()
She's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!Well, gang, my ride to the conference kindly agreed to make a detour. So Gamora and I had our first meeting.
I’m in love. I can’t wait to get to drive her...

Looks good Mike! Did you also strip off the door surrounds when you took the doors off too?
Yes it does. Everyone seemed to gravitate towards my wife when they came up to the school uniform line.Wonderful..it always feels good to give back![]()
You know, I think you’re right! I would have purchased that optionThanks Trina! If I had thought of some kind of cushion I could have made it a bit more enjoyable. It was totally worth it tho. Too bad they don't offer it as an option during build. I bet they'd make a killing.
Ladies and Gentlemen ...Monday has arrived
I'm locked and Loaded and ready !!
Have a blessed Day Jeep Freaks !!!!!
Yes I did, but I did it a day or two after. I read up in the manual first and then took them off. The manual leads you to believe the screws stay in, but I think they mean they won't fall out since you have to pull them out once they are loose. Very simple but I didn't want to assume anything and mess her up, hence the manual consult first.Looks good Mike! Did you also strip off the door surrounds when you took the doors off too?
You played DT on a 100 y/o piano?last push to home today. Stopped at a great ghost town in Montana yesterday. One of the saloons had a nearly 100 year old piano. I suspect the first time it had Dream Theater played on it - albeit poorly out of tune. #2 boy unit wouldn't let me video him, tho. Also got some Metallica and Star Wars Imperial March by #1 boy unit - some other kid walking by wouldn't go into the delapidated building because the music was too creepy, lol.

makes sense to read the manual first. I watched the install video Quadratech put up for the OEM soft top install and it looked pretty complicated at first.Yes I did, but I did it a day or two after. Thanks for the well laid out update!!!Good morning, peeps!
Ace sliders installed on Saturday. Took about an hour and a half. The most frustrating, "wtf is this?"- , "why won't you move"- , "oh, no you didn't..."-, "Oh you mo[censored]"- 6 bolt-job ever.
Conclusions / lessons learned:
- Doing it alone is not impossible, but is definitely for masochists. I used a floor jack with a piece of plywood to raise the sliders - you only need to get them to the point where the bolts are back in - after that it's a breeze.
- Definitely read the thread regarding installation, it's just 6 bolts, but ... ugh.
- Ryobi 1/2 in impact gun is better used on wood projects
- 24 in breaker bar is definitely a good tool to have. A 240lb gorilla can do it with a 15 in bar, but it would be much easier with a 24 in one.
- If I had to do it again, I'd do it outside of my garage in the rain, rather rolling on the floor of humid, hot box.
- Did I mention that I need to re-do the whole wiring and lighting in my garage? I did? Well, let me mention it again.
- The sliders clear rubi rails by about 1/16 - 1/32. At first I thought they would rub, but after tightening the bolts, I was able to push a piece of paper in between the slider and the rail. Nice job, Ace.
- May need to re-think the exit procedure - I got used to just stepping out, but now I end up contacting the slider with my calf - doesn't bother me a bit, but if wearing business attire on a muddy day - that will leave a mark
- Will probably get a roll of anti-slip tape and put on the top.
On the plus side:
- These things are solid
- My better half looked at the sliders and said "they look like they were there all along"
- It's definitely easier to access the roof now (I have racks) - will be much easier to ratchet down materials during trips to Homeless Despot
- My older dog appeared to be grateful for the extra step when getting in (that didn't last long - I had to put a cone of shame on her bcs she's licking her paw non-stop)
- I think the sliders will work as highway pegs - will test just as soon as the rains stop (so... next summer?)
Will post pics soon - forgot to take them.

How do you think my bike feels?

Those teeth are scary... don't want to image what momma fish looks like.Good morning! Fishing was delayed until yesterday and the fish were biting until the rain came. So, water logged and without fish, I got ready for Kenny Wayne Shepard. All in all, a great day and night
