I am getting excessive heat coming from the Uconnect screen. I believe it is coming from the engine compartment since it gets this hot only when the engine is running. It is hot to touch to the point it feels like it will burn you. Does anyone else have this issue or an idea what it could be? The screen still works.

This needs to be addressed by the dealer as itā€™s not normal.

That is pretty pinpoint to think it is coming from the engine, through the firewall and just on the radio display. I would pull the fuse for the radio display and observe for heat. If no heat, then it is the radio head,

I can feel the heat coming through the glove box as well. The entire dash gets warm. Uconnect screen gets the hottest. Iā€™ll try removing the fuse. The odd thing is it doesnā€™t always happen.

Hi Deride,
We would recommend visiting your dealer to have this looked into further. Please send us a private message with additional details so we can assist as well.

Got the same issue. Had the radio replaced twice now and was rejected yesterday for another. The dealer said its normal. Ok so 125 degeees F is normal? I took a laser thermometer and shot the screen. Temps range from 112 degrees to 125 degrees F. I also shot my Ram 1500 radio after getting off the highway and it was 88 degrees. Oh jeep has just under 1000 km on it

Dealer told me it was normal as well. They said they get hot in all their vehicles. But the heat I felt and what you have is way to much. Mine still gets hotter than I think it should compared to my other vehicles. But I havenā€™t had the extreme heat again that had me concerned about a possible fire until today it happened again.

The only thing in your cockpit that should ever exceed 100 degrees is the optional cigarette lighter. If you aren't getting satisfaction from your dealer I'd suggest by starting with reaching out to Jeep Cares and see what they can do. 125 is crazy.

Iā€™m having the same issue. Mine got up to 119 degrees within less than an hour. It was hotter the other day, but I didnā€™t have the thermometer to check it.
