What are people using to extend their bump stops for different wheels/tires? It’s know that the shaking and vibrating of the spare can cause the tailgate to crease, so how should I remedy the 2-3” gap I now have between my stock bump stops and my 35” tires on -12 offset wheels?

Thanks for the reply. These things have pretty poor reviews on Amazon. Any personal experience with them, Jimbo?

i went to home depot plumbing section. they sell 2" lengths of 1" round PVC which fits into the stock bump stop perfectly. i then used a 1 1/2" PVC cap (located right in the same section) to cap the PVC pipe off so i didn't damage the tire. I made sure i had the right length by loosening up the spare and then tightening it down onto the new bump stops. After I was sure I'd have adequate pressure on the bump stops when the spare was tightened, I glued the caps on and spray painted them black. total cost was $4.02 including tax.

I used this. Cut to size to make sure there is pressure against the spare but doesn’t push it away from the tailgate. Super easy and works great.

The Daystar stops in this link are either exactly what come with the Mopar reinforced carrier, or very close. All you need is something to keep the wheel from bouncing.

Not worth $20+ for that iffy Daystar bump stump offering.

Yeah, I used the DAYSTAR UNIVERSALS for over 8 years and they were perfect-

Of course I cut them to fit my bigger tires and they did exactly what they were supposed to do--SECURE THE SPARE !

You can RUBEGOLDBERG your own, but for the cost of the DAYSTARS--why???

Exactly, same here. You cut them to fit, they do what they're supposed to do, and they do so equitably. Seems simple!
