How did you mount your cell phone? Just got a new JLUR and am looking for ideas for placement and mount type.

Since I use Android Auto I just plug it in and don't need to check it.

I set mine on the right side of the 4wd shifter. My Samsung Note 8 rests perfectly between there and the console for the auto shifter. It's funny as when I first got it I looked around and didn't find a good place and just through it there thinking I'd get a mount. Almost 8k miles later and I still use this spot since it works so perfectly. The leather on the boot keeps the phone from sliding provided you have a case.

I also have a Note 8 and that's precisely where I store mine.

I have a wireless charger cell phone holder for my Note 8. I mount it on the smooth area on the passenger side.

Wait, that's a key holder? I LITERALLY thought that was a slot for a cell phone... and thusly..... now i feel stupid.
No worries! I thought the same thing at first! Ha ha.

I tried a phone mount that plugged into cigarette lighter and sort of a bendy arm and then the phone holder. I sent it back. It was way too flimsy. I would love to find a study mount that did this as I use Waze and until Apple Car Play allows that, then I need my phone in sight.

I will try another one from Amazon.

I loved that spot for my magnetic mount, but my heavy phone(S8+) caused the plastic there to separate and create a gap between it and the handle area. I've tried taking it off and bending it back, but I'm afraid without a heat gun or new A/C control surround I will have to live with the 1/8" gap that I now have.

Hi Everyone.... I am wondering why people are mounting their phone. CarPlay provides access to text, maps, phone, etc. So I have ended up just putting my phone under the arm rest in the big compartment. I am sure depending on what you put in this compartment...that might be a bad idea. But curious as to what everyone is using on their phone that is not accessible via CarPlay.

Now, although I put my phone in the compartment. I often forget I put it in there and then go scurrying about wondering where I left it. I am thinking mounting it would solve this problem so I am searching for options.
