Lol. Scratches happen all the time. The Rubicon throws rocks at itself (from the front tires to the hinges & back fenders) - are you also returning that junk back? Nah. You just learn to live with that :like: life is too short to have everything perfectly fine all the time!
That’s a very forgiving attitude, but I wouldn’t put up with it. An old used Jeep worth $10k maybe, but not a brand new $50k Rubicon.

100 degrees no. Anything hotter than body heat heats you up rather than cooling you down.
thanks. So 4 months a year this sunshade will be useless for me. Lol.

What about some 3M protective film? I've seen on other threads some are using it for the door hinges. It could work for both the rubbing on the top and black rubber marks.

I went with Spiderweb Shade and love it. Not only is it a great product IMO but they have amazing customer support as well

Just some thoughts...

During my pain in the but inducing morning commute I've been observing Wranglers along the way. I've seen a few topless Jeeps with sunshades in place. It's occurred to me that very few people will even be able to really see what pattern a sunshade has printed on it or even what color it is... truck drivers, bus drivers and occupants, rock crawlers at higher elevations, and the like. I guess there's some pride in knowing it's there or seeing it when you step up on the rock rails or steps to see it. However, I'm starting to lean toward a plain titanium JTops sunshade for the extra 10% sun protection that it provides and call it a day. I'm not sure it's worth the extra money to get anything printed on it (a Texas state flag in my case). I'll be putting titanium on Firecracker Red.

interesting. I see you live in Texas. I am in Arizona. Both places are 100+ degrees in a "good day" - do you leave your top off in 100+ degrees weather and it still feels "good"? I've never had a sunshade before so I am not sure if I would do it.
I haven’t had it off in a 100 degree day yet, but I suspect it will be uncomfortable no matter what. These last couple weeks of 95 degree weather have been okay, though. Really it’s only hot in the middle of the day. The morning and evening times are awesome for driving around.

I bought the JLKini from Spiderwebshade, the freedom tops are super easy to take off and put back on to not have some sort of sunshade. There won't be any worries about it scratching the paint because the mesh didn't go over it. Yeah yeah yeah, I had to take four bolts to loosen the windshield... THAT was even easier. I really don't see what the fuss is all about on that subject. My sunshade is staying on permanently. I have plenty of headroom. I'm 5'11.5".

In a nutshell, YES. A sunshade is worth it. I personally don't care what kind you get, they all have their pros and cons. Also, I have the option of getting the back covered if I buy the rear part. I just didn't see me going completely topless just yet. I like to take things slow.

Own a wrangler and afraid of scratches..
Sounds strange for me.
It sounds strange to not want to purposely scratch a $50K vehicle?
The reason I can get a new one is because I didn’t trash the old one.

Not advocating scratching it on purpose. It’s really not that big of a deal.
