I guess i'll be the first. After 8 miles on the jeep and 3 rock chips!!!! I decided to rhino line the inside and jams. The carpet was designed to come out. It has snap out pieces. All carpet came out in about 10 minutes. My game plan is after it is rhino lined put the carpet back in for the time being. You can raise the snaps (they screw in) to off set the rhino thinness. Here is what the inside looks like with the carpet removed. I think the sound deadening looks better than my JK. If you zoom in you can see the snaps.

rhino line was going to get done at some point. Im not a craze person, i dont care what anyone else does. the chips just moved it up. I drive without a top all summer so rhino helps with the weather. I do the inside of the jeep and the door openings. The door openings are where the rocks hit and caused the chips.

I’ll be honest, I don’t get the rhino line craze.
Where did you get rock chips and how did that factor into rhino lining the Jeep?
I removed my carpet and line-x the entire inside of my JK years ago. Best mod I ever did. Easy to clean, just pull the drain plugs and hose it out. Also helps with chips, rust protection and sound deadening. Once my 2 door JLR is built this will be one of my first mods again.

agree! i was so pissed getting the chips pulling off the dealer lot. if that didnt happen, i would of used 3m protector for the jams for the first couple of years.

Agree with your assessment on the factory sound deadening material as well. The JL looks WAY better, they must have anticipated people will eventually rip out the carpet so planned ahead

Bravo! Will probably do the same. I've always been a function over form person myself. Don't let any with weak constitutions dissuade you!

I’ve got raptor liner sitting in the garage. Will be doing the same in the next few weeks. Question, did you pull you console yet? Any tips?

Did not pull anything else. The place that's doing it will. They did my jk and did such a great job, I wasn't going to mess with doing it myself on the new jl. I did the inside and the outside myself on my yj. In my opinion they made the jl to polished. Needs more of a jeep look on the inside. I do like how the windowfolds though.

Interested in what you did here, but know little about rhino lining...thought it was just for sound deadening underneath the carpets. Is the rhino line the pre-cut nearly black thin pad in the pictures? I guess it comes pre-cut to those patterns, but it seems to leave a lot of surface area uncovered.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks for the info!

Make sure to post after pics. I am really curious to see all the places you will have the Rhino spray on. I think this sounds like a great idea.

Its the heavily textured truck bed liner that you spray on. People then typically leave out their carpets to make the Jeep feel "less refined".

I had my JY sprayed with bed liner and loved it, it makes it very wash and wear. Post pix and price if possible.

When I had my JK done I took out the rear and front passenger seatbut left the driver seat (had to drive it there ;)). The shop I had it sprayed at removed the console and drivers seat. I went over the rails in the tube, did roll bars and door sills as well. Back then (2010?) it cost me ~$400-500 and I was living in AZ then. Wondering what it will cost to have similar done here in WI........
