Whats up fellas. I moved to Florida about 1.5 years ago and made the mistake of selling my well built jeep thinking it was way over built for the flattest place on earth (FL) I now have a 23 diesel Rubicon inbound, and want to go with the same Metalcloak Game Changer 3.5". I want to go 40's again, but with FLorida being a swamp with ridiculous heat, I refuse to leave my jeep outside all day in the sun. The new construction homes here have the low 7" garages.

My question for the guys running the 3.5" Game Changer with 37-40's, what are your measurements to the highest point of the roof? I am putting my build list together now and really need this info to determine which tire choice I will have to go. I would REALLY appreciate the input.đź‘Ť

I don't have any measurements handy, but my wife's JLUR on 37's with a GC3.5 fits with room to spare. My best friend has a JTR with an EVO 4.5" lift and 40's fits, as well as my neighbor's JTR on a 4" lift with 40's also fits. Unless it's a super short door it should be fine.

I’ll get a measurement tomorrow. I’m on the rk 3.5” X factor lift and nitto 37s and have enough clearance for the 1.5” needed for 40s.

If ordering a new jeep and height constrained, be aware that the convertible top sits about 1.5" higher than the hardtop.

But if the door height from ground to door-trim is a full 7'0, you should probably clear it with no problems.

I went down and measured. Very scientific.

The lift is great. Rides really nice, super flexy, everything I hoped it would be. I was between RK and MC and ended up going with RK after reading some of Roky's posts. He should be on their payroll lol

I have the Metalcloak 2.5 true dual lift with 35’s and I’m at about 77”. You’re gonna be cutting it real close. Especially if you don’t have a relatively flat driveway.

I appreciate you doing that, thank you. I'm wondering if the 3.5 gamechanger is taller than the RK 3.5? Even if it is, there should be plenty of room with 40's?

No kidding. Its amazing how these lift kits differ in actual size. So another inch in spring and maybe another 3.5-4 in tire. Cutting it real close!

Not much if any. Here's a pic of one with a Mc 3.5 game changer & 37s next to mine

You should have plenty if it's 83". My clearance is ~78.5" lol

Mike @Headbarcode recently upgraded to 4.5 springs on his MC lift with 40s. May want to ping him and see if he has current measurements 🤷‍♂️

Mike, welcome to FL! I just wanted to point out that I can’t think of anywhere in FL, off-road, that requires 40s.

With the 3.5" Gamechanger and 40x13.5 Milestar Patagonias, my JLUR sat level to the eye at about 79.5". With the 4.5" MC springs and same tires, it sits level at 81.5".

Here's a couple shots I took while slowly creeping through a parking garage in Chattanooga that was marked 7'1" (85"). Would've been a no-go if it had speed bumps throughout. My am/fm antenna is 3" shorter than stock, which is why it wasn't dragging like the gmrs antenna. In the 2nd pic, you can see that the overhead concrete beams taper down over the actual parking spots. I could only park on the roof without leaving its ass hanging out in the isle of the lower levels.

You should be just fine with your 83" limit.

A dude I bought parts from has 3.5 gamchanger and 40s. Standard 7’ builder grade garage. Brand new it cleared very close. Once the lift settled he said he has no problems. I don’t know what brand tires his were though. I think you should be fine.
