So I ordered steel bumper factory, but I recently decided I would rather have shackles than tow hooks that come factory. My choices are to get an adapter plate that will require cutting the skid plate & bumper, or finding a bumper that isn't butt ass ugly, can fit the factory fog lights, has shackle mounts, and can fit a 12k winch, preferably partially inside the bumper & kinda stealth so the winch doesn't cover up the grill too much, but we can't have it all....

I had the same debate. Honestly, I just kept the factory steel bumper and plan on tossing the winch in that (though I'm a 2 door and will be only doing an 8k lb winch). In 15 years of wheeling, I've used a shackle exactly once. And in that instance a tow hook would have sufficed just as well. Though, I do keep around a hitchlink as well: HitchLink 2.0 | Factor 55

i got a mid width steel bumper from lod. thw winch sits in. uses factory fog lights. shackle mounts and is looks great.

I got a Steel Bumper takeoff for mine. I honestly think its the best looking bumper for the Jeep out there.

The 24" slug barrel replaces the smoothbore 20 gauge (.61 caliber) shotgun barrel with a longer rifled (spiral grooved) barrel, which gives spin (thus accuracy) to a solid slug (rather than the load of pellets normally used in shotgun ammunition). Basically, the shotgun becomes a rifle, though with less range and accuracy than most modern rifles.

.61 caliber is slightly larger than the common rifles (.58 caliber) used in the American Civil War, 1861-1865. Gettysburg was a large battle in that war. The Mossberg shotgun is a pump action that holds five rounds (plus one in the chamber), which would have made it useful as hell 160 years ago against people with single-shot muzzle-loaders.

This setup is commonly used for hunting deer in a number of US states that prohibit hunting with high power rifles because of population density.

I have a Badlands 12k winch mounted in my factory steel bumper...

I distinctly remember the canards. What looked like horizontal stabilizers may have been the rudders if they were canted outward a lot. Damn CRAFT!

I put a Rock Hard 4x4 1/4” steel bumper on the Goat. I’ve wondered what damage it would do compared to plastic OEM it replaced. Never want to find out though.
