What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

So had an interesting time...the ESS dash light came on, from posts on this site was pretty sure it's the Aux Battery. Put a meter on it, very low but decided to keep driving it for a while until I could get an appt with my dealer. Talked to the service dept. said since it's a 2020 they were surprised that the battery lasted this long...what? They then said they'd need it for at least a couple of days to run diagnostics before being able to cover it under warranty....what? (Days..? and couldn't get an appt. for a week and a half)

Problem solved, tried to start it this am, received all sorts of dash lights, was in park but the system said I was in "D"....jump got me going but decided my time was worth more than waiting on the dealer.

Picked up a replacement Platinum AGM AUX-14-1 (approx. $115). Looked at the three possible ways to replace the battery - (1) remove the fuse box and come down from top, (2) remove the Fender or (3) remove the fender liner and come up from the bottom. Didn't want to mess with anything from the top so did the "super easy" Fender Liner removal to get access.

If you're replacing the battery I'd highly recommend this method. Removed the front passenger wheel, removed the 5 fender liner bolts and approx. 7 "push-in" plugs, drilled the three edge plugs and then just slipped the liner out. (You have to drill out three of the liner plugs as they go through the liner, the rest the liner slips behind). Dropped the battery holder, replaced the battery, tested the start - all good, replaced the liner, put in new "push-in" plugs, bolts and tire. Everything working perfectly, so decided to replace the main battery with a deep cycle just to stop the madness. (A smaller H6 will fit but used an H7).

Installed Armorlite flooring. Pain in the damn ass because I kept popping out the u clip in the center console, dropped the shift knob retaining screw into the console, and then the compressor under passenger seat needed a .5” spacer that was a bear to get lined up under the legs and flooring. Worth it though.

Sprayed the giant muffler with high heat flat back. Super glad I did.

In saying all that though. I hated the plastic sill guards. Left a door gap and stored shit under them. I ended up just masking off and bedlining. Lol.

I want to thank everyone who helped to get my head straightened out regarding my misaligned driver side door sill. With patience and $10 worth of 1/4" super strength molding tape from AutoZone I can proudly enter and exit my vehicle again!! LOL.

I don’t have the whole tire mount. I’m using a Chinese replica of the mopar relocator bracket and reinforcment hinge with my stock tire carrier. I added just the Teraflex third brake light mount to my factory rear camera cylinder

I also finally installed my new steering stabilizer. I wanted fox but the one I received from Amazon was obviously defective and I didn’t like the adjustment screw. So I bought a falcon one instead. Installed very easy. I recommend ordering the old style bolt instead of using the one supplied for the shock. Since the rest of the shocks are fox, this is what happens when a falcon and a fox have a baby (or atleast put a fox sticker on a falcon shock to match the rest)

I think I’m misreading this. Did you accidentally type that you used wheel armour on the back of your tires? Or was this supposed to be the front tires and rear tires. So you did all 4 tires….

Final prep for our Montana trip next week.
changed the oil, transmission fluid (MT) and transfer case fluid. I had to file some bolts back into shape before I could remove the skid plates.

Sorry for the confusion! C5 Wheel Armour on the wheels, not tires. C5 is like a ceramic coating for wheels.

I had to take wheels off to coat the well liners with C4, so I did the inside of the barrel that usually get filthy with brake dust (and can’t easily be reached with a brush).

The tires are actually quite filthy. I’ll clean them with Griot’s Rubber Cleaner tomorrow and then dress them.
