From my time in the sandbox I’d say you need lots of water and gas cans. Backpacks hanging out the back and cardboard over the dash panel for light discipline. Oh, and a huge whip antenna that still doesn’t talk to anyone.

Edit: Never mind. Just noticed you are going for a Desert Storm theme and not just desert theme. But still...
British SAS and french commandos used Jeeps for night raids against German airfields in north Africa during WWII. These Jeeps were pretty bada$$.

This is exactly why Jeep is so awesome. Huge. Brass. Balls. Can you imagine raiding an enemy airfield on a Jeep with twin vickers-K dressed as Lawrence of Arabia? Legendary.

Jeep has “Sarge agree”, but it’s not exactly the military Olive Drab /OD green matted I’m used to seeing. This kaki color does reflect the desert, though. I dig it!

If the OP wants the real Abrams look he’s gotta mix and match tan and green wheels, knock big chunks out of his rubber and sling hub oil all over his wheel face.
Maybe a crosswind sensor would be a nice touch mounted above his spare tire to finish off the look.

And two whip antennas with red and green chemlights clipped to them. And the driver's door seal that doesn't keep out water.
