Anyone switch out glove box grab handle?

I had a JLU Sahara with cloth but did not have bolts in grab handle - it was plain.

Bummer

I was really hoping to use those bolt to install RAM balls for my cell phone. Hopefully the aftermarket will fix that soon-ish.

I really wished they would have kept the "Since 1941" that was on the JK.

I took the bolts out on my Sport today to try and figure out how to remove to add a CB mount. The bolts seem to be for decoration as they just coarse thread into the plastic inside the bar. I'll have to take some pictures once I figure out how to get the bar off.

Never realized each trim level has a different style grab handle over glove box....from what I can tell, the Sport and the Rubicon have "Wrangler" or "1941" on there's while my Sahara's is plain jane.....any one order a different version and switch out?

Passenger hasn't really lived until the 1941 in embedded backwards into her palm . She grabs the handle as tight as she can ; and if she is really scared , she will grab you as tight as she can , you will lose control , and go over the cliff .

Yep, My Big Bear 2017 JK had that and I really would like that one back......

just finding this thread but had the same thought. anyone go about doing this? was it just an order of the part through local dealer? think it would look so much more finished without the plain one. thanks.

Ya that’s how the JK was the bolts were just for aesthetics and didn’t hold it in. I think it was just clips. I’d be surprised if you can’t just swap out this part easily
