Make no mistake it is difficult to make a YouTube video especially when I could give a dam about being YouTube famous. I have to be in the right mood to work on them.
The funny yet depressing thing is I can spend 10 or 15 hours or more to edit and process a YouTube video that get about two hundred likes. Or post a pic on here, Facebook or Instagram and get the same amount of likes and only have about 5 minutes wrapped up into it.

I would rather be out wheeling than be in camp on my laptop. Heck some times it is an 3 or more hours just pulling files off the GoPro, drone, dash cam and phones.

to late i think your already interwebs famous lol and as a result of that fame we demand 200 pics a day of your adventures so we can live vicariously thru you until we ourselves reach retirement LOL

If i might offer a word of advice? Advice is worth what you paid for it and you can tell me to go pound sand.

Now, my accumulated youtube "like" count is 71. So I'm hardly some expert. Like you, I do vids to share with family and friends. But I've come to understand that the reason that most youtube videos are a little over ten minutes has to do with youtubes monetization algorithm. Folks who are in it for the money have to target that length, because shorter videos don't earn as much.

For those of us who don't care about building an audience or eventually making youtube dollars, videos of about three minutes or so are easier to make, allow selecting just the best shots, trimming them down, and discarding the rest. And the shorter runtime is more likely to hold the audience's attention better through the length of the vid.

For example, this one was great, and only ran for a minute and a half:

You asked for it. We wheeled this area, explored an open mine and then hiked the Anniversary Narrows. The girls picked up rocks. The wheeling had some rock climbing, a couple drop offs, and driving in a wash. Nothing tough, but 4wd and high clearance was needed.

Carla backed the Jeep up to the entrance of the slot canyon calked The Anniversary Narrows for a pic or two.

These are the ones from the wash heading back towards Ore Car Mine.

Gary and I walked some of the mine.

This was a newer built structure, but the windows and doors were broken and kicked in and it was filled with trash the bathroom looked horrible.

Bill did wheel with us today but he parked and walked to the mine and the Narrows. He has been very conservative while wheeling on this trip, almost to a fault. He skips a lot of wheeling opportunities as he is trying to stay at and under his budget for the trip and the cost of fuel make him pass on things.

Moving to Hurricane Utah in the morning so we can wheel at Sand Hollow and hike in Zion this week.

hahah just busting your chops. I dont get jealous but i definitely am of your trip. Sorry to hear about the fire, glad you guys are able to continue on. Well, this happened today on our way from Lake Mead Nevada to Hurricane Utah.

Lucky for us I know a super awesome forum member that I wheeled with two years ago in Moab. @mgroeger was able to hook us up with a shop that ordered a new pinion seal and is having it sent overnight. Sand Hollow Off Road is going to get it back to Bill hopefully by the end of the day on Wednesday if everything works out okay. Sadly we will not have the time to wheel with Mgroeger as our schedule do not line up.

sSo we will hike Angels Landing in Zion National Park tomorrow, hike Bryce Canyon on Wednesday and the hike the Narrows in Zion on Thursday and wheel Sand Hollow on Friday and possibly Saturday before leaving for the North the Grand Canyon.

EJS will be here before we know it.

Ended up setting up our base camp out on some BLM land next to a canyon cliff.

Angie though she lost her wallet too. We had a bunch of emotions and retracing her steps and stops for the day to find. it two hours later in their camper. Thank you God.

in case yo8u haven't locked in your sked yet, i'd highly recommend you try to visit Tuweep (a.k.a. Toroweap) Overlook on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, SE of St George UT.
it's just over the line into the park from the Arizona Strip and should be an easy drive down about 46 miles of dirt roads for you guys, but you get to camp at the edge of the canyon with a half-mile drop to the river below.
terminally under-visited, you might see less than a couple of other vehicles a day out there; but the scale is spectacular, and the solitude is deafening.
good for the soul.

Okay let’s talk about something cool. So just prior to leaving on this trip, Bill got a new gear set installed under warranty from the shop that did his gears. Awesome they stood behind their work. Then while on the trip, the pinion seal started to leak. Bill drops it off at Ssnd Hollow Off Road shop to get the pinion seal replaced.

He calls the shop that just did the work about three months ago. Kens Kare Kare. Well Ken Farly Jr calls Sand Hollow Off-road shop and pays the bill for Bill. That is what you call standing behind your work.

Remember we have been pulling campers and wheeling the crap out of the Jeeps for three months.

Ken Farly Jr is an awesome stand up guy.

Sand Hollow makes some great rock buggies.
