In between Wranglers right now
So the Alfa Romeo Giulia was launched recently with a 2.0L turbo 4 cyl. Is that the "Hurricane" turbo 4 cyl that the JL Wrangler will be getting?

If so it's got some real solid #'s -- 276 hp and 295 lb·ft at 2,250 rpm :)

The power figures seem close to what was expected out of the Hurricane engine but it's a pretty anticipated engine so the fact that none of the Giulia's press info or marketing materials calls it the Hurricane makes me think this isn't it. I think we'll see FCA make a big deal about the Hurricane engine when it's introduced.

Nice power! If the Hurricane engine outputs similar numbers that's going to be a big torque upgrade - almost 40 lb-ft is going to make a BIG difference.

And even the upgraded Pentastar V6 for the JL won't add on 40 lb-ft more torque. So the Hurricane engine will be the torquier of the engines at least until the turbo diesel arrives.

Turbo diesel is the one engine type that shoulda come out for the Wrangler a long time ago. Shame it's just coming now after diesel has gotten such a bad image and demand for it seems to be shrinking.

Maybe to the general public but as you can see just on this forum many want diesel it's still going to be very popular when it (hopefully) hits the U.S.

FFS, nobody knows anything about this engine yet, you're going to have to wait until people do. Stop asking the same question over and over.

I'm confident the 2.0 will be a good motor. I ordered it...hopefully the initial reviews are accurate.
