True love...Ok, time to hop in with my first car.
I bought a used 1993 Toyota Corolla. Totally made the sensible, safe choice.
That car died three times before I got rid of it.
#1 - On Spadina, in downtown Toronto, during rush hour, blocking both traffic and streetcars.
#2 - on a smoking hot summer day. In the lion paddock at African Lion Safari. We honked the horn until it died too. We were debating whether we should die in the car or out with the lions when one of the safari trucks finally came and pushed us out.
#3 - midnight, on a creepy stretch of highway, when my then boyfriekd wasn’t supposed to be with me (but mercifully was)
I decided the Corolla was trying to kill me, sold it, and bought my next car, a manual Hyundai Accent Sport that was gutless but fun. A few years later, I bought my girl. We’ve been together since the fall of 2004.
