Years ago I installed an air freshener in the vent of my Porsche and it deformed/melted the vent.

My JL is over three years old, and still has a new car smell. No food, no drinks, no dirty animals, no weed, no smoking inside the Jeep. Oh, and the wife and I take a shower 1-2 times a day. I have never used an air freshener. No need to.

You da man! Keep that plastic on the seats and floor too. No dirt and keep it garaged. The next owner will appreciate you forever.

Reminds me of my buddies Mustang. His wife put on some special hand lotion when ever she got in the car as part of her morning ritual. Anyhow, it ate the steering wheel "leather" and he had to replace the wheel.

I heard a story about sunblock trashing leather seats. I was in a consignment furniture store and they had a leather chair that the cushion was trashed where a person wearing some kind of hair product rested their head. Makes you wonder if all the guidos in their Ferraris have special hair nets.

I tend to keep my vehicles quite a while. I just don't like my vehicles smelling like dirty dogs ass, rotten food, or an ash tray. I also don't like all this stuff ground into the seats or carpet. if people want to be a slob, that's their right, I just like my stuff looking nice, as long as possible.

This thread reminds me of the old days, when people put Armour-All on their dash, all the time, and the dashes would crack all to hell. Way back then, I was too strapped for money, to afford wiping everythind with that stuff, and would just use a damp cloth. But, I was smart enough to know what UV Rays can do to plastics. I always used a Windshield sunshade, and that kept things from cracking. I don't like adding chemicals inside the cab, if I don't have to.
