Another vote for putting Rubicon takeoff K02s on a Sahara. I got a 4xe which came with the 20" high altitude wheels, but didn't care for the gloss look or small sidewalls. Was able to pick up the black Willys / Moab 17" wheels with 33" K02s and couldn't be happier with the balance of look and drive, use as daily driver.

If I am driving around Jersey, and see a Sarge Green Sahara, with 17" Moab wheels and 33" K02, I'll suspect it's you! Seriously, that looks really great.

Moral of the story for me as a relatively recent Jeeper, I think Saharas look great with 17" rims , or 18", or 20", and 33" tires or stock or whatever. No need to go extreme or crazy. Plus, so many great exterior colors with the Wrangler. I've had many other cars, and never remember thinking much about the available colors. But with the Wrangler, the blues, and greens, etc., to say nothing of the basic white, black, silver, gray, all look phenomenal. Heck, I have Billett Silver and thinks it looks fantastic. Jeep definitely does that part right.

'21 Sahara Altitude owner here. That "puny" look you're seeing is *usually* after someone puts a lift on it.

Stock from the factory, the Sahara looks great (IMO) - it sits at the right height for its stock tires to look just fine:

HOWEVER, it also looks pretty sick with a small Teraflex spacer lift and 33" Rubicon take-offs:

But overall, I don't regret going with the Sahara at all. It's so fun.
Ugh so I still dont understand why Jeep put the HA wheels on the Sahara 4xe. Your stock setup is what i'd prefer I got with my 4xe.

I *really* liked my stock wheels, and have always loved black wheels, but tbh, I'm more pleased than I thought I would be with the Rubi take offs. Instead of the wheels kinda disappearing into the tires/underbelly of the Jeep, they pop just a little - not obnoxiously so, but they're there.

Me either.

Who at Jeep thought that those 20-inch wheels belong on a Wrangler...?

Imo 4 door wrangler look rinky-Dink without a lift and bigger tires. On the other side of the coin, a 2 door looks beefier even with stock tires. Especially a rubicon 2 door looks fantastic stock....ymmv.

I loved by Sahara wheels but when I found a set of Rubi takeoffs for 400 bucks with tires, I couldn't resist (I actually got more back from my Sahara wheels then I paid for the rubi takeoffs).

Save your Sahara wheels, put 2" spacers and then 33"" tires. Did this on my Sport, looks great IMO, might be your most cost effective way out

That looks great!

By “spacers” you mean lift spacers, right? Not wheel spacers. You don’t need wheel spacers to fit 275/70R18 tires (33.2 inches).

I mean wheel spacers, they kick out the wheels/tires making them look bigger. My Jeep is stock height, no lift, no suspension spacers. Actually not sure if I have 2" ones or 1.5". Either way, it kicks them out

Start looking for your Rubi takeoffs. Bought my Sport S saying I don't need a lift or big tires. That lasted 10 months. Loved my stock Jeep. Worlds better now with Rubi takeoff suspension and Rubi takeoff rims w 33 KO2s

WRT wheels, i really loved the look of the Moab wheels, but was planning on using larger tires.
although i expected it in theory, it was still a surprise to me how much better a slightly *wider* wheel felt, even with the same tires!

I'll be a voice of opposition here:

While I really loved the *look* of the black Sahara Altitude rims (it was one factor in me going with that trim level), I disliked that they were 18".

Finding tires in an 18" size is a bit trickier, will limit your choices, and can also cost more vs similar 17" tires. It was actually a deciding factor in me getting Rubicon take-offs - an easy way for me to get back down to 17" rims.

Cost/looks aside, I can also personally confirm that there is a pretty noticeable ride comfort difference between 18" rims with 32" tires and 17" rims with 33" tires - you have an extra ~inch of sidewall all the way around, and I definitely noticed it was much softer (even going from Dueler A/Ts to KO2s).

I don't know if the stock Sahara (non-Altitude) trim comes with 17s or 18s, but that's my $0.02. I was sad to give up my nice pretty black rims, but I'm really happy with the choice overall.

All great inputs on the wheels/tires combo for Saharas. There are many combos that look good on different Saharas, sometimes based on color combo. I actually really liked the stock wheels that came with my Sahara, and the Dueller tires were a pretty good balance of quiet (for a Jeep) and performance on-and off-road, but decided to look for a bit more aggressive/larger tire when it came time to replace them that would give me more traction off-road.

Also found that the choices of tires for 18-inch wheels was definitely more limited than 17s, and in general they were more expensive, so decided to purchase a set of Quadratec Hardrocks. They are popular amongst Jeepers and the price was good for the look and quality, IMO. Have been very happy with them so far.

For my tires, I purchased Mickey Thompson ATZ P3s in 285/70R17 form, so gained approaching an inch of diameter and over an inch of width vs stock. Really improved the look, particularly with the big lugs, and they are pretty awesome. 10-ply and strong as an ox. I recently ran over a 2 1/2" nail that stuck 3/4 of the way in the tire at an angle, but lugs were so big it never reached the air chamber and I just pulled it out with plyers. Off road they are amazing. I've attached the before and after pics for appearance comparison.

Interestingly, my buddy's 2018 JLUR has a new set of KO2s (replacing with the same 33 size that came with his standard) and I guess due to lug size difference mine look wider, though they are both 285/70R17s. You can see it in the last pic.

The choice is yours and whatever rocks with your style and JL color is good! Only thing I'd never do is get low profile tires on big rims. That ride has got to bite the big one, would not do well off-road (if it ever went off-road), and just looks dumb. IMHO only. LOL
