I just made a deal on a set of Rubicon take-off wheels/tires. With the rear seats folded down, will 5 mounted tires fit inside of a JLU for a fairly short trip?

Might take off your current spare and mount the 5th one there, should be easy then :)

I considered that - but knowing my luck I'd get a flat on my way down to pick them up.

You MIGHT squeeze in 4, but 5 probably won't work. Maybe take your spare off before you go and put one of the 5 on there when you pick them up. It'd probably be easier to load the rest with the top off as you'll have more room to maneuver.

That should suffice, especially if you don't want to roll the dice on running w/ no spare to get them picked up. Pushing your passenger seat all the way up tilted fully forward may make all 5 if you're good at Jenga too :)

My 5 stacked rubi rims and tires is 56”
So, 56"x33"? I'll have to do some measuring...

All of this is really just academic - I could take my old Expedition. I'd just rather not ;)

Yes, they fit. I did a 2-1/2 hour trip with (5) rubicon takeoffs in my JLU sport s

I put 5 in with seats folded down without issue a few years back. It was a tight fit, but it can be done if your packing skills are well polished.

For me, I had some laying flat with the others sitting at an angle or vertical. If I remember right, I had to squeeze the last one in with about a 1-2inch clearance from the rollbar.

Great - thank you. Any pro tips for squeezing them in?
I think (4) fit across the jeep standing up where the folded seat was and the last one was turned parallel to the closed tailgate. Obviously you won't be able to see out the rear but it wasn't that bad

Just got back from picking up my new wheels/tires. All 5 fit easily, probably could have fit a 6th in if I really needed to.

One thing that did surprise me - the Jeep really didn't like the extra weight. I could feel every imperfection in the road and the front end felt very light, not unlike an overloaded pickup truck.

Heading to pick up my set of take-offs on Friday. 2 hours away - hoping you guys aren’t lying and they actually fit 😁
