Different Willys front bumper designs?

Hi everyone, had a 2022 Sport Altitude ordered, but having second thoughts now and going to go with a Willys. However as I see different posts some Willys (not the sport) have the “euro” fender close outs and some do not. Some also have a normal sport looking bumper and some have a bit of a different design.

Anyone insight would be very helpful. Maybe a model year difference?

I haven’t kept up on if there will be any changes for 2022.

I can confirm that my 2020 Willys has the top picture bumper and 'had' the euro extensions that I immediately removed. Those fender extensions are hideous and don't see what the point was as obviously they didn't either since they are now gone!

Did removing the close outs change anything? Any affect on gas mileage or noise? The difference without the closets is amazing. I need to do that to my Sport.

I literally did it the same day I took it home so can't answer any of your questions! Some people carefully cut them out and leave the back cover on, but I found it much easier to remove the entire piece. This does expose the back of the fogs and wiring, but I haven't had a problem with multiple 4x4 trips and camping and all types of weather. I did however wrap everything well in electrical tape.

Also took off that lower air damn... you can see removed in this picture.

I would have also! Those look stupid. Hell air going through is probably better.

By the the way that is my next jeep only with Diesel! Looking good!

For the curios, it looks like the discussion in the Willys thread started here but doesnt like like there was ever really a conclusion.

I bought mine late in 2020 (September) but I’m not sure of my build date off the top of my head.

Early 2020s had the more simple bumper with the euro caps. Later ones went to what looks like an all black Sahara bumper.

Here’s my early 2020. I trimmed the euro caps away to leave only a cover on the back of the bumper.

Looks so much better without it that’s why I was hoping it didn’t even come with it in the first place

My 2021 Willys Sport did not come with those things…..if it did I was ready to cut them off when I got it home.
