When I used to top off the tank with an additional 1/2 gallon or more after it clicked off, the screen on my GC was usually close to 1 mpg or so optimistic from my actual calculation. After I stopped doing that, the screen has usually been within 0.1 mpg of my calculated result. I suspect our JL would be the same and my wife does not top off the tank when she fills it.That on-screen MPG is probably wrong too. Mine is about 1.5-2.0 MPG optimistic vs a hand calculation. If it says 22.5, it's more like 21 when hand calculated. I have had it show 30MPG on a highway drive, was more like 27 when hand calculated which still isn't bad, but the trip computer is optimistic.
Mine has been this way through 35 fill-ups. I generally stop at the first click. Over 10,000 miles any over/under fill would be negated I'd think, and I have never once had the computer show less MPG than my hand calculated results. I just figure that whatever it says is about 1.5MPG higher than reality. When I used to top off the tank with an additional 1/2 gallon or more after it clicked off, the screen on my GC was usually close to 1 mpg or so optimistic from my actual calculation. After I stopped doing that, the screen has usually been within 0.1 mpg of my calculated result. I suspect our JL would be the same and my wife does not top off the tank when she fills it.
I got two questions.I've been getting pretty low MPG.
2021 JLUR
Factory MT tires (Falken Wildpeaks 285/70/17)
36~37PSI
I installed a Tazer and found that my tire size is set to 33.25"
I have measured all 4 tires. 3 of them are 32" exactly and 1 is 32.25"
Did an experiment today to see if I changed tire size on Tazer what would be the result:
BEFORE (13.7MPG overall and matches my Trip A):
AFTER (17.9MPG for 179miles):
I know this is hardly conclusive, but it really got me wondering about the factory tire size setting and why it would be larger than 33".
