This is a good question. I am not sure it will sit higher since the front is lower to begin with. Is your top currently on or off?
How much rake do you want? I have the steel bumper and a winch, which adds about 170 lbs to the front axle. Even going to the Rubi springs and with a 1/2 front spring spacer, the front is still about an inch lower than the rear, it is higher than before the upgrade, but the vehicle doesn't sit level.. I was hoping the spacer would make it more even. I am glad I left the rear spacers out.

Are you adding weight to the front end? I noticed more droop when I added the extra weight and was thinking the spring and spacer would help. Then I realized I don't have the weight of the top on the rear.

Argh!

Your rabbit hole might involve some trial and error. The plus side is that adding or subtracting a spacer is only a couple of hours should you want to play with settings.

It's all in how much tinkering you are up to doing. I think it will sit more level with the hard top back on next weekend.

Hope this helps somehow.
With how it sits now, i’ve got about half an inch of rake. Which is basically where I wanna stay. I put my girlfriend on the bumper to simulate a winch, she’s about 110lbs so a little more than a winch. Front end sagged about half an inch to 3/4”. I’m thinking of just chancing it with diesel springs and see what happens.

BUT if I throw rubi diesel springs from a plastic bumper rubi it might do the trick. Just gotta figure out how much the diesel springs typically lift the rear. I got a steel bumper and my 35 mounted on the tailgate.

Great information in this thread! Thanks to all who have contributed. My question:

I have a 21 Sport S 2 door that came with hardtop but currently using soft top. I found a good deal locally on rubicon takeoffs with spring numbers 58/59 and 88/89. Is this worth doing? These numbers seem on the low side. The seller said they're coming from a 4 door rubi with a soft top. I'm not looking for a crazy lift, just something to make 285/70/17s look right.
I don't think any suspension swap will give you a crazy lift. It will just move your Sport up to the height of a stock Rubicon.

It all depends on what you mean by making 285/70/17s look right. That is really a matter of personal taste. At any rate, these springs won't give that much of a lift.

Perhaps you can look at a few Rubicons and determine how high you want to go. Then find out which springs they are using.

It is all very subjective.

I did the same thing myself, climbing into the back, which made it sit more level.

Can you get a winch behind the plastic bumper? I thought only the steelie had provisions for a winch.

When you add the suspension, you can also install a spacer. If not, I would imagine the difference in weight between a winch/bumper and a diesel block isn't that much.

So I got to park a rubi xr at work and I threw my jeep next to it. Think it’s gonna be the next thing to do to the jeep since it’s got the extra bit of height I want.

I think yours looks better. The fender chops make a big difference.

What offset are those wheels?

Thanks brother, I think i’m gonna bite the bullet and try out the rubi xr springs to “finish” it.

Wheels are fifteen52 turbomac HDs, 17x9 0 offset. Love them.

LOL!!!

So you really think this will be the last modification you will make to your Jeep? The Jeep will be "finished" after this?

Yeah... Right...

How much lift should I expect when I swap?

Current suspension (2D Sport S, hard top):

FL 68250228
FR 68250228
RL 68249109
RR 68249110

Take-off Rubi suspension (4D hard top with tow package):

FL 68253660
FR 68253661
RL 68253590
RR 68253591

I see a lot of people talking about the 68253 parts but no real mention of the 68250 or 68248, what's the difference?

Thanks!

Your stock spring numbers look familiar, do you have a 2.0? I don't have a measurement with just the springs, as I swapped springs and wheels/tires at the same time. All in, my 2.0T Sport 2-door grew about 2.5" at each corner with the 60/61s up front and 90/91s out back and 285/70 BFG KO2s.

And to answer the other half of your question, I think it's just because they're the stock Sport part numbers. We tend to refer to the Rubicon springs just by the last few numbers because we can figure out (roughly) how much lift you might get by swapping them in. The higher the numbers, the better.

Thanks! I have the 3.6. Yeah, I am expecting approximately a 1.5" lift. I will report back.

Members who went to those Rubicon suspension numbers reported 1.5 to 2.0 inches of lift. Take a look at the first few pages of this thread to see which spring numbers they were coming from. If they were coming from spring numbers similar to yours, you should expect something similar.

I took some Rubicon take offs on my 21 Sport S. Raised it very little. Took those off & put Skyjacker 2 inch lift on. Should have gone with a 3. With bumpers etc, I only got 1 inch of lift.

All Rubicon take offs are not the same. You need to look at the numbers on the suspension parts. For a gas Rubicon, 60/61, 90/91 give good results.

Remember that Rubicon suspension parts are not the equivalent of a lift kit. They will only move your Sport to the height of a stock Rubicon. This has its advantages. Your Sport should still maintain the ride quality of a stock Jeep.

Much depends on the end result you are looking for.

I bought the Jeep new with a 2 in Mopar lift on it & it was more like 3-4. Even with 35's it looked odd. That was also before I put bumpers, winch etc on it. Thought the Rubicon springs would be better. As it turns out I should have waited until the extra weight was added before I started changing springs around. I've had Jeeps for 30 years & this is the first one that's given me an ulcer trying to get the look I have in my head.
