Just got it delivered today. Leaps and bounds better build quality right off the bat. It’s really that much better initially than that garbage unit I bought off Amazon.

Of course time will tell, but first impressions I’m impressed.

I've had my Waeco (Dometic) for 19 years, no problems at all, I have a small one in the back of the Jeep that has done 7 years, again no problem. You will be happy you went with it :)

I love it! I was thinking about getting a fridge slide for the back of my jeep but I will be leaving the fridge out at camp most of the time. Just going to try to find a quick way to use my trail rail system to keep it from sliding around.

Yeah I’m pretty much past buying low grade things. I know there are some things that are complete rip offs, but even if something is overpriced it tends to be better quality from my experience.

Yes sir. I spent way more money than I should but what does that even mean haha? Money is made to be spent. I got a smile on my face :)

I just did some quick math on the cost of my Engel that I purchased at least 17 years ago. I paid $615.00 for it and it works out to a few cents over $3.00 per month since new. How much ice can I get for $3.00?

I bought this cheap piece of garbage from Amazon about a year ago for $300 and it works perfectly. A friend of mine owns the rights to import Magic Chef appliances. He goes to China all the time and tours the factories that these appliances are made at. There’s not a lot of difference. But whatever makes you feel good about you

18 ;) To be fair 😂
This Youtuber... one of my favorites has been using his ARB fridge for over 20 years...

I don't remember what video of his that he stated that he has been using the same ARB fridge for 20 years.

I suggest watching them all.

Well in all fairness the knock offs haven’t been available all that long do we don’t know how they will hold up. And it’s not like 1 example is the rule. Everything on this forum is antidotal with not much to back it up.

Well of course my situation is anecdotal. From my experience I have almost always regretted buying the cheaper option. I’m sure others don’t mind taking the risk or maybe even have good luck based on their own anecdotal experiences.

For me, I was happy to get my money back from that junk Amazon Fridge that broke on day one. Just the plastic alone was night and day difference in quality.
