I just discovered bubbles on one of my hood hinges today, I'll be going to the dealer for this to be covered under warranty.

I have a 2018 Rubicon Sting Gray and had several doors and the hood repaired a year ago. Now my jeep is going in to repair new paint bubbles in new places and in areas that were already done. I had about 34K miles when the first repair was done. I have not noticed an issue with the hinges (will check tomorrow). Mine has been along the bottom and sides of the door and hood.

FINAL re-spray. Still a couple spots of dirt in paint and they owe me Jeep emblems for front fenders. Can't believe they removed and were not even going to reinstall until I pointed it out!! Paint match is much improved - not perfect - you can still tell difference in sunlight between b-pillar and doors and the tub and doors. We'll see how it holds up. Everything was painted UNDER hinges.

Took dealer approx. 3 weeks to get approval for warranty work (kind of understandable). Received approval on 10-8-21 & they were fast to get it in on 10-11-21. Initially informed it would be a 2 day job (rear doors/2 hinges). They called on day 2 to inform me they found several other spots not noticed during warranty inspection. Due to extra work, extra time would be needed which I understand. Was told likely be done 10-15-21. Then was told 10-18-21. 10-20-21 and still no Jeep. Why don’t they teach under promise / over deliver!? Just one service tech’s perspective but when I dropped it off he said they’ve been seeing the issue mostly w/ Sting G. & white.

Can't imagine what that's going to look like in 20+ years...mine is doing the same thing. Waiting until closer to the warranty end to get it fixed.

Update on my experience. 10 days after drop off for warranty work I have my Jeep back. Completely satisfied with body work. I’ll be watching for impending future corrosion and will likely be back prior to year 5. Unless of course I’m driving a Sasquatch by then. Kidding! I hope.

Its all colors that have been effected by this corrosion- as its the method and lack of work done. Has been going on per our jeep rep over 7 years.

On the JK it was just the hinges. Far easier and cheaper to fix. Now its the doors, hood, tailgate, and hinges.

Update: 3 trips and 2 phone calls to the dealer, I finally got word today that the claim was approved. They farm out the body work to a local shop. I'm scheduled to drop it off on 10/11.
Repairs completed, picked up yesterday. All signs of corrosion on doors and hinges repaired. I guess I should be happy, based on what I've read in this thread. 60 ish days total from time of report to the dealer. About 4 weeks to get factory warranty approved, scheduled out 2 weeks, then 10 days for the actual paint work. It appears that they painted each entire door panel and hinge. Color match not 100%, but ok for a 3 yr old car.

From the very beginning of talking to others on these threads it has been all over the jeep itself mainly hinges, hood,& tailgate. But why wouldnt one have their entire wrangler inspected. We did. And the sooner its fixed regardless of how long AB specialist says it will prevent Extensive damage by waiting. U do U

For those JL owners who are having this issue, are there some common denominators that might help the rest of us be on the lookout?

What year is your JL, what color, do you live near a saltwater, humid, or dry environment, was it garaged vs. parked outside, what hinges did you notice first, doors, hood, tailgate?

I would assume it's inevitable that this will happen to all of us, it's just a matter of time. And the sooner we catch it hopefully the more likely that fca will make it right.

I just dropped my 2020 Sahara off. Repair goes in Monday through Friday. No loaner offered, rental (enterprise) sold out. I had to take an Uber home $70 bucks.
@JeepCares I hope Jeep will be reimbursing me. I have all receipts.
