Introducing Rebound PRO wheels with INNERLOCK Technology, from ICON Alloys!

Jeep Wrangler JL ICON Rebound Pro Wheels with InnerLock Bead Retention Technology DSC09332_WEB_LARGE

Any hardcore off-road enthusiast knows the numerous benefits that lower tire pressures offer such as improved ride quality and a larger contact patch for increased traction. However, low pressures also increase the risk of de-beading the tire during extreme side loads or aggressive driving. While traditional beadlock wheels address this issue by clamping the tire’s bead, they also need frequent maintenance, require specialty tools/parts, increase rotational mass, and are NOT legal for on-road use.

Jeep Wrangler JL ICON Rebound Pro Wheels with InnerLock Bead Retention Technology 1633534254127

The ICON Alloys Rebound PRO with patented INNERLOCK Technology offers the best of both worlds by using a robust bead retention system to keep the tire bead secured to the wheel while also being fully DOT compliant. This provides confidence in knowing that your wheels are prepared to tackle whatever situation you encounter - on or off the beaten path. InnerLock is ready for any type of terrain and every single adventure.

What Is InnerLock Technology?
Patented InnerLock technology (U.S. Patent No. 11,090,976) is an all-new way of capturing the tire bead and retaining it onto the wheel. InnerLock uses a series of O-ring sealed, hardened alloy pins that are inserted radially on the inner side of the tire bead to create a barrier that prevents the tire from unseating during extreme side loads. Additionally, InnerLock wheels are lightweight, strong, don’t require bolt retorquing, and are DOT compliant for the ultimate blend of on-road safety and off-road performance.

Used. Abused. Lab Approved.
During an accelerated R&D process ICON engineers subjected the Rebound PRO to thousands of miles of real-world abuse throughout harsh and unforgiving environments. After on-vehicle testing was concluded, the Rebound PRO was sent to an independent contractor for precise lab testing, specifically the FMVSS No.139 Tire Bead Unseat Resistance Test (modified to 10 psi). Results from multiple tests validated the effectiveness of ICON’s InnerLock technology by exceeding the mechanical limits of the machine (over 7600lbs load) without ever de-beading the tire.

Staying true to the ICON Alloys approach, the Rebound PRO has been engineered to maximize caliper clearance and optimize wheel position for un-hindered suspension travel and steering function. Backspace and wheel offset dimensions have been strategically developed to reduce scrub radius, improving all-around handling and ride quality. The Rebound PRO has also been strength tested to yield a 3,200lb load rating - making it one of the strongest wheel options on the market. With build features such as these, it's clear that a set of ICON Alloys wheels is the perfect complement to any truck, Jeep, or SUV.

I love my rebounds and would have gone with these a year ago if they were out.....looks a great solution for peolpe who want lower pressures but not the weight penalty or complexity of traditional beadlocks

When will you get DOT compliance?

Sweet! I really like that you're giving diehard beadlock guys another option to keep the tire on.

Dumb question, I've never had bead locks before. What keeps the inner bead from getting de-beaded? I really like Icon's design, and would love to run these.

Most beadlocks only lock the outer bead. In most off-road situations its the outer wall of the tire that usually gets pushed and pinched. While it's possible to de-bead the inner, it's very rare.

Nothing, that would require a double beadlock which is rare except for extreme sport(baja, king of hammers).

Some free feed back, Haha. I love the idea but not the offset 4.5". I see you have a JK, JL Rubicons come with wider axles for a reason and JL Rubicon's are better off with 5.5'ish and less tire poke IMO. I love my AEV wheels (5.7) but would replace them with your new design in a minute if you offered something closer to JL OEM rather than a generic Wrangler offset.
Most full lift kids required <4.5 to not rub. I love AEV wheels but cannot use them or my tires will rub. AEV makes beadlocks for a more OEM wheel tuck.

If they came in a +6 (5" B.S.) or +12 (5.25" B.S.) I would consider them. I really like the Rebounds but the backspacing pushes the wheels/tires out too much for me.

I really like Icon's wheel idea. But I'm with you about the back spacing. I run +25 wheels with 37's, a 2.5" lift and stock fenders on my Rubicon, without rub issues. Icon could one up AEV just by offering their wheel with a Wrangler Rubicon in mind.
Agreed, I will more then likely to go with AEV this time, I went with Teraflex Nomad (0 offset with 4.75) and they stuck out 2.5+ inches. Love the wheels but would prefer something more tucked.

We appreciate your input and I will pass it along to our product development guys for consideration. My guess is they probably already have that configuration in the pipeline. But I'll also tell you that while I personally own a JK, it does not yet have these wheels on it, so don't assume that my owning a JK has anything to do with the specifications this wheel is offered in. ICON's shop Wrangler is a JL and it does run Rebound Pro's. That is the vehicle that this wheel was specifically designed around. It has been run on these wheels everywhere from Johnson Valley to Moab, and has performed great. That said, we understand that there are others who prefer a different stance, and we of course take that into consideration as we decide what additional configurations to invest in tooling up for. This is a brand new product so additional configurations will be offered as soon as we are able to.

Assuming the shop JL is a Rubicon, can you post some photos that show the stance that these wheels give the Jeep? All the back spacing talk is hard to visualize and it’s just a lot easier with a photo.
What psi are you running off-road with these wheels??

thanks
