Actually did a two fer since both wife and I work from home now. Had a 2018 TRD Off Road 4 Runner and wife had a 2019 Miata RF. Loved both of them, the 4Runner was a workhorse. Could carry so much stuff in it. Where we live now though is Jeep country so pulled the trigger and went back to Jeep. Got a 2021 Rubicon. Iā€™ve had 4 previous dating back to 88. This was my first Rubi though. Had all the features we wanted. Didnā€™t feel like building one like I have in past. Lift n tires are it for us pretty much. Love the open air. You canā€™t go wrong.

2017 Tacoma TRD OR DCLB to 2021 Rubcion 392. After almost 5 years with the Tacoma, I could not get over the Engine and Transmission (needed to really get up in the RPM range to feel any power, and would constantly downshift at the slightest incline). When I heard about the 6.4 HEMI making itā€™s way into the JL, I knew that engine with the ZF transmission would be the powertrain for me. Itā€™s my first Wrangler, and I am completely happy with my decision.

Iā€™ve never in my life owned a car, just a few Jeeps. The first one fell into my lap as a child, a worn out, stripped down dune buggy of a TJ. Even showed up full of sand. The rest is history.

I had a 2017 Kia Optima and my gf was driving my old 2012 Hyundai Accent. My son got his drivers license and needed a first car so we gave him the Hyundai. I gave my GF the Kia and I went and got a Jeep ! Should have gotten the Jeep first lol

2008 Land Cruiser. Nice rig, hauled a ton of stuff and the 5.7 V8 was fun to romp on. I had always wanted one so it was scratching an itch for me.

Tech was dated, of course. It was very thirsty 14 and 16 mpg and it was about to have needsā€¦tires, brakes, suspension bits and there was an AC leak as I had it charged 2x in the year I had it.

I had a 07 2dr JK so when I found the deal on the 4xE, it wasnā€™t a hard decision.

Old car was a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS. I wanted something with more capabilities on road during the winter months ( an 18"wheeled low profile tire in snow is...interesting) with the ability to go off road if needed. Now in a '21 2dr Willys. I had a reservation for a Bronco for about 6 months and finally got tired of waiting. In hindsight, I'm glad I went with Wrangler. love this little guy!

1. High school 15 years old a 1986 Mitsubishi gallant. Was a fun car for a skateboarding punk to beat up at that age. (Owned)
2. Then I moved up senior year to a 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse. I was going to live that fast and furious life. (Owned)
3. Then early college, I went to a 2008 Volkswagen Passat. Actually a great car with a pretty snappy 2.0 turbo. (Owned)
4. Then went to a 2013 Passat. (Owned)
5. Then to a 2018 GLC 300. (Leased)
6. Then to a 2021 CLA 250. (Leased)
7. Now we have two Jeeps! (Owned)

Funny. I just realized the car brands came in pairs of two.

Why Jeep? My wife wanted one first. Bought it for her and was instantly hooked. What they say about you either fall in love or immediately hate Jeeps is very true.

My last verhicle before my 2021 JLU was a 2013 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Awesome SUV. This is going to sound silly but I started looking at new GC earlier in the spring and Jeep didn't have green as an option anymore (i've had green vehicles since my 1998 TJ) so just for giggles I started looking at a JLU and was really impressed with some of the features, like the Sky One Touch roof and the Sarge green was such an awesome color I fell in love with it immediately.

I am moving from Southern Virginia where everything is pretty flat and there are lots of twistie back roads where you can go fast to the top of a small mountain in Western NC. My prior fun thing to drive was a highly modified Polaris Slingshot with 450+ hp. The problem was that it could not climb the 12 degree gravel road that leads to my cabin. So I sold the Slingshot and my big red truck that I used to trailer it to the track. Took my fist full of money and bought a Jeep. First Jeep / First Diesel and the start of a new adventure.

Why? Originally, I bought a pre-owned electric/hybrid in 2015 to help offset the costs of a long commute and to benefit from a job that had free onsite charging. 9 years later during Covid, I found myself with a new job and commuting far less every day and just BORED. Iā€™ve always liked the ā€œidea of a Jeepā€ but figured it wasnā€™t a realistic option. Until one day, I woke upā€¦ realized this life is shortā€¦ and why have I been driving only sensible cars since I started driving?

Now, I enjoy the Jeep so much and itā€™s changing my entire outlook on life. My kids are obsessed. I am obsessed. My wife is ANNOYED šŸ˜‚ but I think sheā€™s just jealous. I know I am not alone in this!

My 2019 JLUR is my 8th CJ/Wrangler. My first was a new CJ-7 in 1977. Iā€™ve loved them all, but I grew up with Jeeps and never expected them to drive like a European sedan on the highway.

Iā€™m getting old, Iā€™ve worked hard, and I love all things with motors, so Iā€™ve owned a LOT of vehicles. For the first fifteen or twenty years of vehicle ownership Iā€™d periodically sell my Jeepā€™ to buy something better for hunting, or something capable of towing a boat, or something comfortable to take on longer trips, orā€¦. At some point I realized I always missed the Jeep I had just sold, so I stopped getting rid of the Jeeps and just bought other vehicles in addition to the jeeps.

Until last summer when we sold our beloved TJ, a decision we still regret, Jeeps comprised three of the six 4-wheel vehicles at our home. Now weā€™re down to two just two jeeps. (We couldnā€™t afford to do this in most states because of the registration/tax beating delivered to vehicle owners there. The Peopleā€™s Republic of Oregon beats the crap out of me on property and income tax, but vehicle ownership is cheap.)(This could be a fleeting bargain, as Oregon, which has never had sales tax, started imposing a .5% ā€œprivilege feeā€ ā€”- as in its a ā€œprivilegeā€œ to earn money to buy a vehicle ā€”- on new vehicle purchases in 2018. That will undoubtedly increase over time until our sales and ownership taxes look like yours.)

Mustang here. Fast is fun but Wranglers are more fun. Top and doors off with a lift keeps a smile on my face.
