Hey all, i'm running a stock 2020 Willys and i'm looking to upgrade wheels and tires.

I'm looking at the Black Rhino Arensal in the following size.

17 X9.5 5-127.00 -18 BKMTXX

Wheels I want to go with Goodyear Duratecs - 35 X12.50R17 LT 121Q E2 BSW

My question though are these going to stick out crazy past the fenders? I want a wide stance but not sure if this combo is going to be too much poke past the fenders.

In my opinion yes. Go for the +18. But some here really like that “poke”. Just keep in mind that too much “poke” or no fenders breaks other peoples windshields.

Think about it this way. The stock wheels are about +45 offset. Going to -18 is going to push them out about 2.5" just based on offset changes alone, but it will actually be more because you're looking at wider tires and wheels.

I like this site to try to visualize it:

I agree with Joe, -18 is too far out for my tastes. I run a +12 offset 8.5" wheel (Mopar). Nice stance with some poke, but not the skateboard look.

IMO 0 to +18 is the way to go. I have 0 offset on 11.5 “ tires and still have a little over an inch of poke.

Here is a pic of the setup u are considering. Theses are also black rhinos -18 with 35x12.5.
I will say the rear fenders will get some gouges from the tires throwing rocks but that just means u have a reason to upgrade those later 😁

To protect your rear fenders just have the wrapped in PPF. The factory film is weak AF. I wrapped the grill, hood, front/rear fenders, and around windshield. Jeep is 2 1/2 years old, and paint is still perfect. Best mod I did to the Jeep.

Here’s my new with -18 offset wheels. Whenever I see a Jeep with positive offset now, it looks weird to me lol
Im not sure why people are against negative offset. Perhaps its for fender clearance when youre flexed out. But for me i prefer to have the cornering stability. I always believed that the higher you go, the wider you have to go as well.

My JLUR is lifted 4" over stock and has 38x13.5's wrapped around 17x9 wheels with -12mm offset and 4.53" of backspace. Even with chopped fenders and one of the highest tuck liners, the inner shoulder of the front tires still lightly rubs the liners when turning.

I agree with you, as far as the wider track offsetting the higher cog that comes with larger lift and tires. At 7-7.5" higher and 6.5-7" wider, my Jeep is noticeably more stable in corners and curves than when it was bone stock. In fact, I can go about 10 mph faster through the same curve. From personal observation, it seems that every 1" of added width has more affect on gaining stability than every 1" of added height has on taking away from it.

I used an offset calculator and after comparing to my 20x9 +1 with 35x12.5 tires which extend 2.5 inches outside the fenders, your setup should stick out approximately 3.5 inches from the fenders. Hope this helps.

I may be wrong but more negative offset helps with flex. It gives you more arch for the tires to stuff in the fender.
