No, I have a ‘21 and don’t have those…

New for 2021 maybe?

I custom ordered and took possession of it 12 days ago with 4 miles on it, so pretty sure it came that way from the factory and the dealership didn't do any addons. I just found another thread on here with a photo of them, it was stated there that it's adaptive cruise related, if so I'd love to know in what sense.

I have a ‘21 JLURD that was built in May and it has the two wires.

I take back everything that I said. I have them also, but they are much more tucked into place and not visible from a normal driving position. I had to stoop to see them.

Yeah, in all fairness my first photo was taken with the bright sky in the background making them much easier to see. They're not something that jumps out at you until you go and try to mount something in that area. Then you'll see them everyday ;)

It's a mini defroster like the rear defroster for the adaptive cruise/collision avoidance.
What they said. My 2020 has it too. And I have seen it work when I remote start my jeep and the windshield is covered in snow. That always melts first.

here’s an old pic of it

Yup, they are there. Something else to make windshield replacement harder.

Definitely defrost for collision avoidance. Now if they could add that to the wiper area, and the LED tail lights, and headlights, that would be great.

My 2020 with the advanced safety group also has those, I remember noticing the black plastic bump one day and wondering what it was lol. They must've done a lot better job hiding the wire because I don't remember seeing the wire on mine lol.

I agree about the defroster, those connections look just like the ones on the rear glass defroster on my hard top.

The Jeep used to be owned by a government official and has a planted spy device to listen, track and monitor any movement by the vehicle.
