Took my Rubicon 4Xe out to Rausch Creek Offroading Park in PA to do some wheeling last Sunday with my brother in his Rubicon 4Xe and my friend in his JL Sahara.

I don't know what hurts more, my body from all the rocking and rolling we did, or my face from the non-stop laughing and smiling we were doing!!

We got muddy, we got twisted, we got dusty, and WE HAD A BLAST!!

Bonus to the day: we completed Trail 11 and all earned our first Jeep Badge of Honor!!

I used electric as much as I could to get a good feel for the torque and WOW.. some power!! In 4-LO, there seemed to be a lot of whining, slipping and very slow-going in Hybrid, but once we switched from D to M and set 3rd or 4th gear, it improved immensely.

We tried out the hill decent / accent control and it worked incredibly well.

We also had the sway bars disconnected, and tried the lockers on Trail 11 in the rutted ravine section. Holy crap what a difference it made!! It was unreal!

Basically, we used every off-road option the Jeep had available to use, (even tire-fill assist), and I am more than impressed. This is my first Jeep, and I can honestly say that I don't know if I would ever own another vehicle!!

Mike from Off Road Consulting and Driving Instruction was a wonderful guide who let us figure it out on our own, but made sure we were doing it right every time. We highly recommend him!!

So many photos and videos to go through, but here are a few of the highlights:

Thanks!! It was a BLAST!!

Have you done Crawler Ridge? Is it really the 5-9 that the Jeep BOH app says it is??

I'm sitting stock suspension with 35's.

Sure have, did with my 2 Door Rubi when it was still on the stock 33's no lift, but had diff and LCA skids. I took the route on the far left of the ridge, the route on the far right is supposed to be easier though. You should at least check it out to see if you feel comfortable trying to tackle.

That said, Crawl Daddy (the 3rd BoH at RC) requires a much more modified rig.

Looks awesome! I want to take my Sahara 4xe there soon. How did the Sahara keep up with your Rubicon’s on the trails?

If it wasn't for the running boards he had on his Sahara, he would've been able to complete every obstacle!! He only had to take a bypass twice.

I was super impressed on how well his Jeep performed!!

Trail 11, Crawler Ridge, and Crawl Daddy can all be done with stock Rubicons without using any bypasses; perhaps depending on conditions even other models.

Take the Off Road Consulting badge-of-honor ride and they'll help you find the line through, and teach you a lot in the process. If you have an instructor choice as they often split it up choose Kyle - he'll show you the way. ;)

It's not the machine that limits us on these trails; it's the mind behind the wheel.....

I love Rausch Creek. Can't wait to go back, but none of the coming classes work for me. Lots of Sunday classes. It is a 3 hour drive so I like Saturday or Friday. Ugh. I won't go without an instructor or a follow the leader. Kyle is great. I don't know the other guy. I just looked up Badge of honor rides. Sept 12 and Nov 7th . Both Sundays. I may be able to work out the Sept 12 but not Nov 7th. . Probably go out the night before.

Me too. I would like to join next trip to Rausch Creek. Haven’t been there in a very very long time. Now have a 2021 Rubicon, manual, half doors. From central NJ. No badges of honor yet.

Looks like only Sept 12th could work for me. see if my better half is up for the trip. I have trail 11 Badge. Don't recall it being difficult. Crawl Daddy is listed as a red. Probably would not do that . Maybe there are easier ways around. The website says damage is likely. I want to be able to drive home. The other one, Crawler Ridge sound good. Anyone here know more about Crawl Daddy?

We didn't go on one of the BOH days... when we got there we spoke with our guide and told him we wanted to do Trail 11... talk to them when you book and let them know what trails you want to complete.

It can be an easy or challenging based on weather alone. That being said, it can easily be overcome with a goof spotter and patience.

My buddy and I drove up from Virginia and wheeled all day. We hit Crawl Daddy first and my buddy conquered it, in his stock 2021 JLUR 4Xe, with a couple of scratches on his skid plates.

Thanks for the insight. I have no problem scratching or denting a skid. I have front and rear differential skids that could use some scratches!
