Looks great, on a slightly separate note, who makes those wheels?
Yeah we really love these factory 392 wheels, that’s why we “made” them fit with the big brake kit and the 37’s.

The stock brakes aren’t awful but they definitely don’t match up to the extra power of the big motor. The APB Big Brake Kit definitely made a big difference.
And required spacers for stock wheels yes? Curious if the new XR package will end up requiring the same thing. Brakes are probably one of the first things I do.

That’s awesome. Is this kit still only going to gain an inch?
There will be an option for either a 1" lift to run 37's, or a 2" lift for running up to 39's. :like:

Yes, the stock wheels curve in so they wouldn’t clear the brakes without the spacers.

I’d Rather Talk Jeep’s!
I just wrapped up my install of a Clayton Off Road Overland Plus lift kit on our Wrangler 392, and I've got to say it has not only increased the look and function of the 392 but also the overall driveability of it! I went with their 2.5" lift kit which was technically designed for a Diesel Rubicon as far as spring rate etc. Now I should say, the 2.5" Lift rating is based off of a regular Rubicon, not a 392. So we weren't sure how much height we would actually gain over stock on a 392. In the end, this kit ended up netting me 1" in total height, and there was about a 1.5" gain at the front of the 392. I am being told they will have the 392 specific kit listed on their website this week. I kept the stock Fox Shocks because I like the bronze and am trying to keep the 392 specific parts on it for now. Also, I am running on 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers with the stock wheels.

If you are interested in the install process you can check out my video here:

Here's the pic I used for the video cover so you can see the stance:

Makes sense. How close was it? New wheels from XR are a half inch wider. Time will tell. I don’t mind running spacers though.

If the existing mopar beadlock (before 392) wheels work should be good to go. They are same wheels from what I hear.

It was pretty bad, they definitely needed a large spacer. There is a brake template you can print out on APB’s website to check the wheels.

Thanks for the reply. I’m actually going with the BFG K02 37s C tires. They sit about 35.5 when mounted. I think the 1” should be perfect.

I wonder if the Alcon brakes would fit? They completely transform braking on a regular JL and fit comfortably inside 17" KMC wheels.

Are they bigger calipers and rotors? Or just new pads?

It's a full replacement front and rear (~$4k). They make solid brakes. We run them on our JK's D70 front/rear.

Not just pads -- new brakes. Much more powerful braking. Alcon is an amazing company. Most of their business is building brake systems for British military vehicles... (Their Jeep brakes are priced as though we're military contractors too!) Very expensive, but dramatically better than the other alternatives, and lightyears better than just replacing pads.

Alcon Brakes

I was leaning toward the Teraflex option due to reputation and ease of installation, with the self-bleeding system, etc, but then I saw that Teraflex is now made in China, and the performance doesn't copare with the Alcons. Now I'm in a holding pattern, because the Alcon alternative is $4,000.

My brother installed the Alcons on his 2019 JLUR and it brakes better with 37s than it did new with the factory brakes and small tires.
