The writing is on the wall, with the ever increasing push to (soulless) electrified vehicles and harsher CAFE and emissions standards I’ve been wondering...how long do you see Jeep offering the 392 in their lineup? To me, nothing beats the sound of a burly American V8 at full tilt, hence why I caved and ordered one, price be damned. I also think this type of vehicle is the last of an era. Same with the Hellcat powered Stellantis products. I see them being phased out over the next few years, if not as soon as 2024. I know the Wrangler will stick around, it will get electrified but I can’t see them offering this engine for more than a few years. I’d love to see a mid year refresh in 2023/2024 with UConnect 5 and if that’s the case I’ll probably add another 392 to the stable. Curious to hear your thoughts.

I bet the produce them for a long time. Seems like companies are offsetting the EPA regulations with producing enough EVs to keep the gas gusslers going. The Trackhawk keeps plugging away and I would assume Jeep sells way more 392 Wranglers than TH’s so it shouldn’t be a sales volume issue.

As long as it makes sense to produce them, they will. I honestly see gas cars becoming a niche product, much like EVs were at one point. They’ll slim down the product lines or make a gas specific trim, kinda like how the 392 is and make the more mainstream vehicles electric. The prices won’t be cheap, but for those who want them, they’ll exist.

I’m a big supporter of electric cars, as long as the energy is sustainably sourced. If Jeep comes out with a fully electric Wrangler, I’d for sure be into it. The majority of people don’t care what they drive, just as long as it moves.

We don't have the power grids to go full electric. People still get brown outs in the summer time from their AC units at home.

They need to phase them away. Just like they always do, release an awesome something, then take it away. Makes them more collectible and fun. Then bring them back a decade later. Seems like typical car business.

Jeep rep confirmed to the new car manager at my local dealership that the 392 is one year only. I guess we will see.

You may be right, I seen somebody talking about how they’re letting dealers order more 392s than their initial allocation. They might cancel it because the gross Mpg requirement for automakers was just increased. My theory with that is Chrysler just pushed the button to build as many as possible as they won’t be building them next year. All speculation.

You do know any order after 8/4 will be a 2022 year model right? So unless I am mistaken everyone who has placed orders after 8/4 for the 392 will be getting the second year run of a 392!!

If so that’s a bummer. I’d like to pick up another in 23/24 if UConnect 5 trickles down to the Wranglers.

we will see if that applies to the 392. I have a BMW M2 CS also and the 2020 is the only year, produced until Dec 31, 2020 right alongside the regular 2021 M2Comps.

Hopefully it's not true or the rep just hasn't been updated or Chrysler hasn't "decided" yet on the official word.

I was waiting to swap my 21 Rubi for a 22 392 and that's when they reached out to let me know they called the rep and was "confirmed."

The nice part is my waiitng on ordering a 392 provided enough time to order it with the XR package. :)

Any 2021 order for a Wrangler placed after 8/4 no matter if the order banks are open or not will be changed to a 2022 model when the order banks open.

I’m optimistic they’ll keep the 6.4 around for a few years considering the 22’ Grand Wagoneer gets the 6.4L and gets 15mpg combined. If it is only one year then I’m extremely happy I canceled my Ecodiesel order for the 392XR.
