Touch-Up - Wrangler Hardtop

All Wrangler hardtops are painted when they are manufactured. They are either painted black in color or painted to match body color.

For color paint code in regard to your body color matched hardtop, see white sticker on your Wrangler.

Below is what you would use for touching up a black Wrangler hardtop.

This stuff is a perfect match, I touched up my old JK top 5-6 times from when I set it down on the garage floor. You could never tell where the touch ups where. Probably the only time in my life touch up paint worked flawlessly.

I've already got a small scratch on my black hardtop after only a week. Have no idea how it got there, but anyway.... went to the dealer parts department and the guy told me there is no touch up paint available for the black hardtops. I can't say I'm surprised, but you'd think looking it up by VIN would show something aside from the body color.

I showed him the photo of this paint and he looked up the part number. Found it, but said that lacquer meant it was clearcoat. I told him to order it anyway. However the part number now showed up as 68060405AB so must be a newer revision.

Revision is because they changed the container the paint is placed in. Same paint/same exact color, just a cutesy container now. Oh, they have a little clearcoat in a bottom well of the container from what I have been told. I probably would not use the clear coat.

PXF is paint code.

Too bad the original parts dept guy that told me it was not for hard tops wasn't there. Would like to have educated him since he was pretty adamant that he had never seen touchup paint for black Wrangler hard tops.

For tiny chips on a non-body color hard top a Black "Sharpie" works well.
