Ummm...just out of curiousity...what's it take to be called a "redneck" in Tennessee?

You know, growing up in TN, rednecks (to me) were always guys. Never considered a woman one, but I know that isn't true. It's just a look in my head that always popped up - shirtless, smoker, shoeless, always has pot somewhere available, pickup truck, ain't got no grammar skillz, unkempt, backwoods, prolly had a still or two in a holler somewhere. I'll add to the list as my mind soaks up my coffee.

Or in other words...my Ex-In-Laws!! HAHAHA They lived in the hills north of Cookeville.

Funniest thing happened one day while I was talking to my then father-in-law on the phone. He says to me..."You are sounding more and more like us all the time." To which I replied..."I just want to make sure you understand me." I have always had a knack for picking up accents when I have been around them for a little bit. Guess I was around the in-laws too much!! HAHA

I grew up in Looz-anna (aka Lousy-Anna). We moved from Cincinnati right after 9th grade.
Packed up my Honda and drove north as soon as I finished my bachelors.

I have always had a knack for picking up accents when I have been around them for a little bit.

same here. i can pick it up and blend in. i was hanging out with a bunch of australian folks for a few days and really picked up there accent.
