Hey guys!! So we just got our jeep, 2021 Sahara wrangler and when we bought her she had 400 miles only, now we are at 600 and the check engine light is on. The other day when we turned the car on the back up camera malfunctioned as well but suddenly its working, I am concerned. I know its still under mnftr warranty so I may just take her in. Just wondering why there is so many issues so early in the stages on having my baby :crying::brokenhearted: anything helps yall thanks

Although it has been said ad-nauseum, have you opened your fuse box and fully inserted every fuse and relay? They often aren't fully seated at the factory and this is the exact timeframe when you'll see weirdness happen because of it.

My friends dad a few years ago finally bought his dream car. A red Ferrari 488. Backing it out of the trailer the check engine light came on lol these kinds of things happen but a vast majority of the time it's nothing. New cars have so many computers controlling stuff its just the nature of the best.

Gigi: rule out the check engine light being a function of fumes escaping from a loose gas cap.

Tighten that cap to a minimum of 3 clicks. If this is your problem, within minutes of driving the check engine light will turn off.

If this is not your problem Gigi, chances are it's something stupid and easily fixed by the dealer that we'll laugh about a week from now--so don't worry.

Gigi, your Sahara, like EVERY vehicle……most definitely comes with a gas cap!

if it doesn’t have one….than that’s most definitely the cause of your check engine light!

lol, than You are probably talking about a gas cap COVER

just to confirm when you put gas in your Jeep you loosened a cap in order to put fuel in Correct?
And as mentioned above by another member….you may not have tightened it properly which would cause a check engine light.

I assume you mean your gas cover area looks like this…
Jeep Wrangler JL **CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON W/ ONLY 600 MILES :(** 534F79AC-8FD8-4026-AC79-8B485A383B17

Opposed to this?….

?Yes you are correct…that is VERY weird!
lol
And very well is your check engine problem then!

Id go back to your dealer and show them and they should quickly pull one off another Jeep and quickly install it.

But if you are correct by what you are saying …..than rest assured that’s the cause of your check engine light and once you put a gas cap there the check engine light will soon disappear

I'm not sure about the Sahara but my Grand Cherokee didn't come with a gas cap either. The fuel filler had a small, retractable, black flap covering the opening that you just pushed the gas nozzle past. When you removed the nozzle the flap sprung back into place.
