I actually watched that a few days ago. Theres a lot of stuff that was allowed on planes back then apparantly. Smoking and open carry of a firearm by an off duty police officer, loading up on sleeping pills...

How's your ankle holding up?

Went on a 2 mile hike yesterday with 20-25lb pack. Should be good to go as long as I don't twist it on the trail.

I'll have to keep a good watch. Sounds like we will be doing 3 days and 2 nights for 29 miles. I'll get recovery time.

My first time on a plane, 1957. We parked by an open gate in a 4 foot fence, walked straight across the tarmac to the plane, a DC-3, showed tickets, and climbed the steps to the cabin. Was about as big a deal as boarding a Greyhound.
