When I "turn the key" to run (without cranking the engine), the engine makes a high-pitch electrical noise. I took it to the dealer, and they said that the electronic throttle body assembly makes that noise on all the new JLs, and it is "operating as designed". Does everyone else get the same noise?

I have been following all forum posts here for over 2 months now. No one has mentioned this here.
It is possible that the what the dealer is telling you is the truth.

I would go to the stealership and ask to speak to the Service Manager. Again, the "Service Manager". Ask the Service Manger to take you to another JLU on the lot .. or maybe a couple more and demonstrate to you that they have the same noise.

Do, be polite and respectful when you request the SM to do this.

Just tried mine: it makes the same noise, but not quite that loud. Please post if you hear anything new from your dealer about this.

Will do, although I don't anticipate hearing anything more back.
Since this happens on all the JLs according to the dealership, that makes it "as designed". And when I contacted Chrysler/Jeep directly, they said they don't plan on looking in to it either, since they defer to the dealership techs who already decided it was "as designed".

"Stealership" maybe you can answer the question since every dealer is wrong! Better yet why is it the "service managers" job to hold your hand and tell you it's a normal noise or not. Can't you go listen to a new jeep with a sales rep? Maybe you can go turn your jeep to run and listen for a noise that's normal.

Well, in past posts you have said you are a Jeep Tech .... work at a Jeep dealership. I have immediate family that runs a dealership. You should know like I do that Sales and Service are on other ends of the world so to speak on dealership property.

You have a Service issue you deal with Service. Sales will want to avoid the mix.

No one needs to hold my friggin hand. I don't deal with Service Writer's and you know why. In this scenario, I go to the Service Manager.

Your family must run a crap dealership. We work our sales on a lot of issues. We work hand and hand on a lot of concerns and get it taken care of very quickly that way.
I'm sure the service manager loves you. I bet they roll the red carpet out for you. More likely they roll their eyes at the sight of you because you think you know everything because you googled it.

Professional response "Jeep tech"

If you gave a frig about fellow JL owner's here, you would have said the noise is normal or the noise is not normal. Or, I will check and let you know fellow JL owner.... No, you'd rather spew crapola.

What I don't agree with is the "stealership" remark you made.

My apologies my emotions got the best of me, this is a normal noise found on most FCA vehicles. It's from the ETC or throttle body depending what we want to call it.

Hi tommygiggles,

You've got some great advice here. If you decide to head back in, let us know and we'll get a Case Specialist who can walk through this with you. We're available via direct message and will need your VIN to get started.

Just to be clear, are you referring to the "clicking noises" at 0:13-0:15 or the loud constant beep starting at 0:12 to the end of the video?

@wranglerguyman I get the sound when I push the start button until it's in the 'Run' position. I don't have a remote start.

@Jeepsterfreak I'm referring to the loud constant beep.
