BTW, this is the owners 392,
It sounds to me like the dealer likes HIS car, and he's only willing to sell it as HIS price. I'm sure just having it on the lot on weekends brings in some extra foot traffic vs the other dealers in the area too.

More stock will come, but I also wouldn't be shocked if someone jumps on it. To some people, $20-25K over msrp is insane. To others a 30% increase is it worth it to not wait.

The guy was probably selling toilet paper on Ebay last year for $10 a roll too. Someone impatient will buy it.

Completely agree. Greedy owner living the good life driving it on weekends and planning to find a sucker to pay $100k for it.

Non sucker here but I did talk to them about it and the salesman told me the owner was willing to take $90k for it if I bought it TODAY. "Hurry hurry I have so many inquiries" I was lol I'll wait.

Plus they titled it to the dealer which means I'd be buying it with a used title. Lol can't wait to see who falls for that one.

I don't even know that I consider it greedy. That dealer might not actually want to sell it. Totally possible he's fine driving it for a year until stock replenishes and putting it on his used lot. Dealers do that all the time.

It's less greed and more that he's a real jeeper that really wants his 392. But he's also not dumb, and if someone wants to give him $90K-100K for a used 392, he would be willing to give it up for that price. Now if they had 2 sitting on the lot not being used both listed for $100K, well that might be more of trying to be greedy. But I really view it more as the owner like his 392, and basically is saying he's only going to give it up for what is essentially silly money.

That's a fair point. Salesman did say it was the only one that had left

If it’s someone’s personal car, and he happens to really like his car, he can sell it for whatever he wants. Personally, I wouldn’t take 100k for mine. To me, 15k profit isn’t worth giving it up.

Not happy to see dealers selling new stock for 5-20k over though.

There is always one to be had at MSRP if you’re willing to look around and wait, no matter the car.

Being a good customer to an honest dealership goes a long way as well.

Good luck in your search.

BTW, the premiums are not greed; they are textbook capitalism. It's absolutely no different than when the law of supply/demand goes the other way and we enjoy pricing below invoice.

Hey...we all loudly professed that we wanted to avoid socialism as a society (and, I agree). Well, this is certainly not socialism. We should be happy.

um... that sure as sh*t is a greedy capitalist - and it’s laughable. Socialism would imply that we limit choices in automobiles and are given one by the government that we collectively pay for - like in the former USSR. Would you like a red sedan or black sedan? Nobody ever said to limit the price or for Jeep to limit choice or asked the tax payer to offset the price. Just laughing at the greedy a$$ dealer that finds a sucker every minute.

Image of the sport on this listing is funny to me, especially with their asking price.
Guess they must really have some customers that feel $25-30K is worth not waiting a couple months.

I really don't understand this logic. If a dealer finds a customer that will pay a certain price why is it considered greed? A seller and buyer create a market. If you asked for more money to do your job and they gave it to you would that be considered greed on your part? Or would they be paying you what you're worth? Just my opinion of course.
