Got invited to go to Ouray in July. Spousal unit cannot go cuz stupid dogs. I can't ditch her for 2 epic trips since I've already got the Moab trip with you fookers! I'll save Ouray for the future when she can attend and we can make those badass memories together.

P.s.- I told her that the Moab trip is a recon mission so I know where to take her in the future. Not a complete fallacy, but I am NOT passing up Moab!

Hi Steve, do you fly fish or use spinning outfits? I was really into fly fishing at one time but burned out and haven't been in over 15 years.

I've always used a spinning reel/rod for trout, but I've recently been thinking I might want to learn to fly fish.

BTW...anyone tie their own flies? Let me know what colors you need.

these used to be my go to's when I was spinning for trout in upstate NY and northern NM. A lot of the waters had to be single barbless hooks so I'd snip off two of hooks and file down the barb.

My daughter and I had to go barbless yesterday. We caught those browns on Atomic Tubes. I just took some needle-nose and mashed down the barb.

I donated my fly tying kit to a youngin' during our last move. I was bummed, but hadn't touched it in eons. Some stuff in there that I had from when I took my first fly class when I was in Elementary school myself
