Everyone is always like, "Oh...that's so cool, I love your jeep" until they drive it or ride in it. My wife hates my jeep. Other family members have complained about the handling and noise. My wife hates my jeep so much that she b!tches every time I throw money into it. Guess what? I don't drive my jeep for comfort, nor do I exxxpect you to be comfortable. I drive it because I love the way it feels. It's loud, it's hard to handle, it's powerful, and goes almost anywhere. Most women like comfort. Jeeps are not for comfort; don't worry about it. If you like it, that's all that matters. If you are satisfied with that, then her complaints won't bother you. I always think of a little Chihuahua dog when she starts off with the complaints. That way it doesn't bother me.

Are you describing your wife or your Jeep, just looking for some clarification? :)

When I met my future wife years ago she was driving a rather bare and stock TJ. I'm talking no AC, soft top, and zipper half door windows. She was at the end of her line without AC so we traded cars for the summer and I was hooked. First Jeep, first manual transmission. Four months later she wanted to sell it for a regular car and since I was broke, off it went.

Twenty years later I finally bought my first Jeep, custom ordered, a 21 JLUR. As much as I wanted the 2 door I have kids and this needed to be a daily driver and 2nd as my off-road play toy. My wife hates it as much as I love it. There is zero room in the driver and passenger seats. It's so boxed in. Neither of us remember her old TJ being so tight. I know this isn't a Cadillac or fancy sports car but good grief Jeep didn't give us much room, especially in the foot well. She doesn't ever want to ride in the Jeep and complains like crazy when she has to.

Are there others out there with spouses who hate as much as you love your rig? Am I crazy or is there just not a lot of room?
Your screwed.. my wife hated my old four runner, after a year and a half of having her trash it.. i dumped it for a loss.. and got into Jeeps.. she loves them.. so now life is good.. Happy wife happy life.. We will miss you around here, good luck with life.. :)

This is interesting. Newer rigs like nice cars and these 4WD caddies we call pickups have spoiled us. My wife wanted a jeep soooo bad, once we finally got one she has slowly realized that driving the newer pickups is a lot nicer (ride, road noise, extra leg room and creature comforts). She doesn't complain, but acknowledges they're not as nice. My daughter is much worse, she doesn't like travelling in it at all, way less roomy and quiet than our 2015 F-150.

Oh well, what do ya do. For me, I'm just glad the wrangler hasn't become a big, wide, IFS-laden SUV built for soccer moms.

Give me SFA and death wobble and road noise, at least it's still a tough-ass jeep.

My lady insisted on a new 2020 Volvo. Now she drives a 2021 JL Sport S. Won't let me take decals off, put bigger tires on it or take out the back seat. Women

What? šŸ˜• My wife is 6 ft. Her daily driver is a GMC Yukon and she loves driving the JLRU. Granted the person sitting behind her has no room, but she has lots of leg room.

You think she hates it now... just wait till you tell her you want to spend thousands of dollars on a 2 inch lift to fit 35's.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Our JL is one of the most comfortable vehicles I've ever had, and I've had about 40 give or take.
Sure it can bounce and sway a bit more, but as far as the butts in the seats and overall support I can't believe how comfortable it is. And unlike something like a Yukon where it feels like you're driving your couch down the road the JL seats are perfectly set up for controlling your vehicle, at least that's my take.

Iā€™m 6ā€™5 and I fit fairly comfortably inside the driver seat. Passenger seat is a whole different beast, because only the driver gets a seat height adjustor. Maybe thatā€™s the problem.
