She is my garage gopher. She was there for every step of the way including the welding(had to buy her a helmet). She loves working on the Jeep. What a project, truly inspiring!
And now the next step is making one of us lowly stockers a killer deal on D44 takeoffs right
Did your daughter save that tire from running over some pedestrians???
So after selling rubicon axles, dirty life beadlocks and 38 Patagonia’s I have roughly $4200 in my one ton swap(including new wheels and tires) I am extremely happy with the build. Next is drill and tap the steering box and do my own hydro assist. Right now I’m running unbalanced and no steering stabilizer and it will run 80 down the highway with one finger on the wheel. I am getting about 14-16mpg still with the 3.6 and 6 speed. It is a lot of work but if you take the time and do some research it can be done. With how expensive ready to go axles are and with how cheap and DIY loving as I am, I feel like if I ever got to it, this would be something I would do in be future. How do you like it? Happy you did it?
I have spoke to Fusion and when I work on upgrading my brakes I may swap to dodge/Chevy brake setup. This should allow me to put tone rings on the hubs.Hey dave can you talk more about your ABS solution/workaround? I assume you're going to run all 4 sensors off the rear just to get the light to turn off, but you will be running without proper ABS/ESC/BLD not that you will necessarily need it.
If you want to get it OEM-like I think Fusion4x4 might be able to help you with hubs and tone rings for the front.
